Nars Celebrates 15 Years With 15 Stars and a Book

When couples celebrate their 15-year anniversary, the traditional gift they might give their mate is crystal. But when François Nars celebrates his company's 15th anniversary, he makes a book, with all proceeds going straight to charities. And as you might expect, it's not your ordinary coffee-table publication. To commemorate the company's quindecennial anniversary, Nars plans to release 15x15 ($80) in mid-November, with only 1,500 copies hitting the presses.

The book, which will be available for 30 days at 15x15project.com, will feature photos of 15 celebrities, from Marc Jacobs to Amber Valletta to Naomi Campbell. "Basically, I wanted people who reflected my taste, friends, and people I admired for their look and talent," Nars told WWD. Inside the book, you'll find two inspirations behind each photo, along with a featured makeup product. Nars promises, "You don’t get bored." Last but not least, it's the final installment in my beautiful bangs for your face shape series. Heart-shaped faces are suited to support lots of different bang styles since the forehead is often very high.

Again, side-swept or off-center long bangs are great for drawing attention to your eyes and cheekbones and away from your sharp chin. Also, short wispy bangs and fringe will work well on the different types of hair thickness.

Steer clear of blunt bangs if your face is very wide by the eyes and then very narrow down below. This will only make your face look longer.

A few heartthrobs with heart-shaped faces include Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Naomi Campbell, Victoria Beckham, Brittany Murphy and Jennifer Love Hewitt. I think that those of you with a heart-shaped faces are the luckiest of the bunch, since you have such rare bone structure.

Fashion Week starts tomorrow, and I'm excited to see some new faces on the runway. It's fun to spot top models such as Jessica Stam alongside up-and-comers like Hana Soukupova. For me, seeing the brand-new girls is one of the most exciting parts of any show.

Still, I know there are people who miss the era of the supermodel, when Naomi, Cindy, Linda and Christy dominated the runways and magazine covers. Claudia Schiffer recently said those days are over:

"In order to become a supermodel one must be on all the covers all over the world at the same time so that people can recognize the girls. That is, for now, not possible, not least because the advertising industry is very much taken nowadays by pop stars and actresses. Supermodels like we once were don't exist anymore."

She does have a point: Drew Barrymore is the new spokesmodel for Cover Girl, while Keira Knightley replaced Kate Moss as the face of Coco Mademoiselle. But is this necessarily a bad thing? Personally, I love Drew and would rather see such a smart, talented lady selling makeup than another pretty face. Tell me, would you rather gaze at supermodels or actresses-or would you rather see "normal" women in their places? Source
