Earlier this week, I filled you in on the brand's 12 Days of Christmas Lip-Stravanganza in my post about three lip balms for mistletoe moments, and now here's another festive find: 8 Days of Luscious Lips Happy Hanukkah Lip Spa Set ($18). Included in the sweet kit is a brown sugar exfoliating lip scrub, two breath mint lip balms, a hazelnut cocoa butter lip balm, a day/night lip conditioner, a mango butter lip balm, a shiny clear gloss, and a matte gloss. New Product Alert: Greek Cosmetics From Not Soap, Radio

If you're a sorority girl, you will love the new products from Not Soap, Radio. A new line of Greek-themed cosmetics has just launched, and it's just a matter of time before your "sisters" scoop them up. The line comprises a collection of roll-on perfumes and lip gloss trios.

The fragrances ($15) are individually mixed for each sorority, using essential oils and incorporating the sorority flower. So Kappa Delta's scent is White Rose, while Tri Delts get Pansy, and so on. On a similar note, the lip gloss trios ($18) have each sorority's Greek letters on their tubes. One gloss is a sheer pale pink and tastes like peppermint; the other two (a true pink and a bronzed rose) taste like vanilla cake batter.

Both the fragrances and the glosses are available online, and my sources tell me that even more Greek goodies will roll out over the next semesters.

Indie Brand Causes a Huge Safety Controversy

Major beauty drama is going down in Michigan: an indie cosmetics brand Glittersniffer is being accused of using unsafe ingredients in its eye makeup. Glittersniffer proprietor Lela Warren, who does not have formal training in cosmetics formulation, is under fire for using non-FDA approved soap dyes - which can lead to irritation and even blindness - in the brand's vividly hued eye shadows.

After customers complained of irritation and ensuing visits to the hospital, some launched a collective blog. In December 2010, Warren recalled some products, acknowledging that she had previously used noncosmetic grade ingredients in her formulations to get brighter colors. "We decided to do an 'official' recall of our products because we felt Glittersniffer was becoming a more serious company," Warren explained to BellaSugar in an email. "We wanted to make sure all non eye-approved products were no longer in use."

Prepare For Natural Disasters With an Emergency Kit For Your Home

On Tuesday afternoon, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake, an aftershock of the 7.1 magnitude quake on Sept. 4, collapsed buildings in Christchurch, New Zealand. Initial reports suggest that damage and fatalities far exceed that registered in the initial quake. Scary stuff indeed. Here in the Bay Area, a major earthquake in the next 10 years is nearly an inevitability. Whether your home is located in an area that's in danger of experiencing an earthquake, hurricane, tornado, or major snowstorm, it's smart to be prepared. The American Red Cross recommends having enough food and water on hand to support every member of your household for at least three days. They've also got a great list of other must haves you may not have thought of, including bleach and a non-electric can opener.

Water. The Red Cross recommends one gallon per day per person, including pets. If you don't have any stored, why not make a habit of picking up a gallon or two every time you go to the supermarket?
Food. Concentrate on ready-to-eat canned fruits, veggies, juice, and meat, as well as protein-rich snacks like trail mix and granola bars. Don't forget vitamins and special supplies for any elderly family members, babies, and pets.
A first-aid kit with Band-Aids, latex gloves, gauze pads, a thermometer, over-the-counter drugs, and necessary prescription medications.

For the other essentials,

Tools such as scissors, tweezers, a sewing kit, a manual can opener, a knife, and a wrench to turn off gas and water.
Moist towelettes and antibacterial hand gel
Sunscreen
Paper cups, plates, and plastic utensils
A hand-crank or battery-operated radio, with batteries
Flashlights with extra batteries
Candles and matches
Cash
Small fire extinguisher
Toilet paper, feminine products, and garbage bags
Dish soap
Bleach
Blankets or sleeping bags
Rain gear
Important documents, such as wills, deeds, passports, family records, and bank account numbers.
A list of important phone numbers
