If you're a Project Runway fan, you might just want to tune into Lifetime Television's upcoming sister show, Models of the Runway. The program, which shows the behind-the-scenes antics of the actual models from Project Runway, makes its debut on Lifetime on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 11 p.m.

Will you be watching Project Runway tonight? You know I will be. Last week, Jeanie Syfu, lead stylist for the TRÉSemme team, talked about what it's like to work on the show, and this week we're back with some pretty juicy details about a few designers who shall remain nameless. Read on!

What’s the craziest thing that has happened while you have been doing hair with Project Runway?
I would say consulting with the designers. Some of them are really difficult. Some of them had a really strong point of view: “I want the hair to do this and I want a bun on the side with texture.” But others were just very uninspired, and it was the same thing every time. And that’s not fun. You want to be creative, and you want to get excited about that garment.

Can you name names?
[Laughs]. I can't! But sometimes they would say things, and you would be like, What are they talking about? They’d use these crazy references, and you’re stressed out because you don’t have that much time. Of course, I want the hair to look as good as possible, but sometimes it was so difficult to understand what they wanted. And sometimes the models would go upstairs, put their garments on, and then come back down and they would have changed the hair! That was the most difficult. A few times the models had gone out on the runway without me even being able to fix it - or it was beyond fixable.

That does not sound like fun at all.
It’s not! I want everything to look good, but sometimes they would get frustrated or have second thoughts about something or couldn’t just get their point across to me about what they wanted to see. Then the models would go out afterward, or they would come down and I wouldn’t have time to fix it or it wasn’t fixable because there was so much hairspray in it that I don’t know what they did up there, but I would just get a little frustrated you know?

Are there any hairstyles that you really that you thought worked perfectly with the designer’s vision and with what you wanted to do?
Well, my favorite designer to work with was Jerrell. He’s really flamboyant, and he has so many ideas! So every time he came downstairs, he just had this whole story that went with the garment. He had a very strong point of view, and every idea that he had, it was fun to kind of build on that. I had the most fun with his looks, definitely.

Are there any trends we should look forward to seeing during this season?
I did a lot of ponytails this season, which is kind of funny because that’s such a classic look. We did a lot of ponytails - every variation of a ponytail you can imagine - but somehow we made every single ponytail look different. The model and designer would come down, and they’d be like, “Oh, we want a ponytail.” And all of us would just roll our eyes, like, “Oh, come on, you know we can do this blindfolded!” But actually it pushed us to look outside the box and make a ponytail look different every single time - and I think we did that. Who knew there so many looks on a ponytail?

A Few Words With Project Runway's Lead Stylist, Jeanie Syfu

Despite what some people might say, Project Runway isn't just about the clothes. It's about the models, makeup, and hair, too. Jeanie Syfu, lead stylist for the TRÉSemme team, has to whip up runway-ready styles in a tiny sliver of time. In between writing her ProjRun blog and styling models for future episodes, she made time to dish on what it's like at the behind-the-scenes "salon."

How do you work with the contestants to devise the looks for their runway challenges?
They come down with a sketch, a swatch of fabric, or a reference, depending on what the challenge was. Because we only have 30 minutes to get everything done, we try to make the consultation as quick as possible. We just start having a conversation about ideas what we can do with the model’s hair - if the model’s hair would be able to do the style and if the time allows it. It’s really fun.

You should see how quickly they’re able to make these garments, because so much drama goes on upstairs that we have no idea what’s going on. So, sometimes [the designers] come down, sometimes they don’t, and sometimes we just try to do the guessing game and figure out what it’s actually going to look like. We just do what we can in the time that we have.

So there are some contestants who just go up into the last minute and don’t have the model’s hair done at all?
We’ve come very close to that. It is so crazy back there - sometimes they are counting the seconds getting the last zipper done, or something comes apart and they need that extra 10 minutes to finish. Sometimes they never make it down and the models just put it in a ponytail or a bun. It always seems to work out in the end.

What is it like for you and your team to create those hairstyles so quickly, knowing that they’re going to be seen by millions of people?
It’s always fun. I have such a great team! We’ve all done plenty of shows during Fashion Week, and we’re all very familiar with how things run back there and how quick you have to be. On a normal day at a photo shoot, we would have plenty of time to prepare. Given that we only have 30 minutes - sometimes less -to get something done, it’s a challenge even for us to get the hair looking perfect in the short amount of time that we have. So, it’s really hard but we always end up making it beautiful. I love it. It’s exciting.

The designer and the model often come in with their own ideas. Do you ever have to say, “That sounds great, but in a half hour there’s no way it’s going to happen”?
Yes, it’s happened to me many times. Many times. We have a lot of ethnic models this season, so we had one girl with this huge afro. Sometimes [the designers] would want a straight blow-out, and we would just be like, “That is so impossible.”

Yeah, and I think that afros are so beautiful anyway.
Totally! I’m all about like making the afro bigger, but sometimes the design didn’t really call for that.

What Do You Think of Flat-Ironed Hair on Guys?

"Oh hi, everybody! It's me, Christian Siriano - you know, the big Project Runway winner? (You may also know me by my diva name, Ferocia Coutura.) So anyway, I was just fiercely hangin' at an auto show, when my friend Bella took a look at my hair. 'Christian,' she said to me, 'Between you and Pete Wentz, I think there may be a new hair trend for skinny, pale punk-ish boys.' I so concur, because I am a trendsetter. Armed with our flat irons and hair spray, Pete and I shall out-fierce everyone else in a may-jah way. But Bella wants to know what you think of this look on guys. Is the flat-ironed look something you hope catches on with men? Or is it a hot tranny mess?"

Whose Project Runway Look Do You Like Best?

If you're like me, you've been waiting for months to finally see who won Project Runway. Congratulations to Christian, who will unleash his fierceness upon all the world. I'll leave the fashion dish to Fab, but of course I want to dish about the hair and makeup looks.

I think the looks are all very pretty, if a bit on the cautious side. Christian's look, at left, is simple but chic. Props to Rami to working the trendy side-French braid - I saw it up close at Fashion Week and it was jaw-droppingly cool. And Jillian's look, at right, is so romantic. Whose look is your favorite?

Meet the Project Runway Models

Unless you've been living under a rock - one where basic cable is not a given - you probably know that tonight is the season premiere of Project Runway. The designers are sure to come up with some interesting outfits (and Fab has a sneak peek of some of them). Of course, just as the designers are vying for a chance to make it big, so are the models. Love It or Hate It? Malan Breton

Remember Malan Breton from last season's Project Runway? You may have expected him to run into the same problems that other ProjRun stars have had, but instead, he's showing at New York Fashion Week. And if you look closely, you might recognize a fellow reality star walking in his show here. That's not the only unusual thing about this show: Pete Wentz, of all people, was in the front row sans Ashlee-which makes me wonder if he's a secret fan of Project Runway. And I can't help but guess at what Michael Kors thinks about Malan showing in the same tents as he does!

While the hair and makeup isn't the most inventive that we've seen, it's certainly very current. We've been seeing thick eyeliner before on Amy Winehouse all year, and it looks like she's had an impression on Malan. Do you like the look, or are you getting tired of the trend?

Michael Kors Makes a Very Hollywood Cosmetics Line

Designer and Project Runway judge Michael Kors is getting pretty with a new color cosmetics collection that's due in January. The makeup line, which was created in collaboration with Estée Lauder, is part of the Very Hollywood brand and is designed to be the makeup equivalent of Michael's recently released perfume. The collection comes in two palettes, a pink and a beige-coral, with complementary blushes, sheer lip "sheens," and eyeshadow kits for each. I liked Very Hollywood perfume well enough, and this collection, given the bright colors and sheer tints, seems to be marketed toward a younger audience than Michael's usual fare, but I just don't know whether I need a Michael Kors pink blush when there are already a million gorgeous shades out there. What do you think? Are you excited for this designer beauty debut, or just kind of meh?

Christian Siriano Gets Ferosh For Victoria's Secret Makeup

Nobody wants to you look like a big ol' hot mess, especially not Christian Siriano. While you probably don't think of Project Runway's season four victor as a makeup designer, think again. Christian Siriano for Victoria's Secret Makeup has just made its official debut.

The limited-edition collection, encased in gold compacts and lettering, includes such fierceness as: five shades of eye shadow ($14 each); three lip gloss shades ($14 each); black eyeliner ($12); a bronzer-highlighter trio ($24); a face brush ($32); and a ruffled cosmetics bag ($16). Now that you've had a glimpse of what the line has to offer, are you intrigued?

Maybe It's Fashion Week . . . Maybe It's Maybelline
