Catherine Keener always looks fresh-faced and glowing, and lucky for us, celebrity makeup artist, Nick Barose, who did the actress's makeup at the Sundance premiere of Please Give over the weekend, has shared his tips for getting the look. "If the skin looks hydrated, especially in this extreme-cold weather, then the rest of your makeup will look great," he said.
To give Catherine's skin a healthy glow pre-makeup, he used Skyn Iceland Pure Cloud Cream ($75), and for the eyes, Barose left on the Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels ($45) for 10 minutes to prevent creasing.

As a little girl, I dreamed of snow every year, waiting and hoping for the first lazily drifting flakes to begin their fall. A little bit of that magic is still attached to snow for me, and when companies start making their snow-inspired seasonal products, I always get excited. For those of you who love the snow as much as I do, I've put together five pages of pretty snow products sure to brighten your day.

Beauty junkies who've also been begging for an iPhone shouldn't be surprised if this Lip Mobile lip gloss compact ($9) appears in their stockings this year. Whoever came up with the idea for this thing was pretty clever, but I don't know about it in practice. Would you want makeup that's not MAC but is disguised as a Mac, or is the whole thing just a little too corny?

Right now at LORAC, there are a couple of kits on special that are jaw-droppingly cheap for what you get. The 3's a Crowd Set ($19.50) has trios of lip polish, Glam Rocks, and lipstick, making it cheaper than buying drugstore brands. Plus, its Everyday Eye Collection ($22.50) has nine shadows and a liner and a makeup case.

At the Avon Hope Honors Gala, all the celebrity Avon ladies (and the Avon man) were out, including Courteney Cox, Reese Witherspoon, Fergie, and Patrick Dempsey. Of course, no Avon lineup would be complete without Lauren Conrad, the spokeswoman for Mark. To complement her gray cocktail dress, Lauren opted for a 1940s glam makeup look, complete with glowing cheeks, winged-out liner, and warm red lips.

Who ever said that glittery makeup is only reserved for the middle-school crowd? At last night's New York premiere of Amelia, it definitely wasn't Hilary Swank. Wearing an unexpected silvery-blue shadow on both her upper and lower lash lines to coordinate with her steely blue-green gown, Hilary proves that sparkling, shimmery finishes don't have to look cheesy.

There's no denying that matte nail polish is the "it" polish finish right now. In fact, there's no denying that nail polish in general is having one hot moment — particularly in the drugstore category. While matte has a very fashion-forward appearance, the problem is that it just doesn't wear as long as regular polish.

When it comes to applying your makeup, what area do you find to be the trickiest? If you're like me, it's all about the eye area. While I love trying trendy shades and techniques, sometimes I just want a quick and easy routine.

Just when we thought there couldn't possibly be any more ways to wear braids, who better than trend-setting Lauren Conrad to bring us back in? At the Hollywood Style Awards last night in LA, the former reality show star styled her signature waist-length extensions in not just one side-braid, but two intersecting plaits. Celebrity stylist Byron Williams of the Byron and Tracey Salon created the look for Lauren, using her multihued frock as inspiration.
