Here's a silver lining to the dark cloud that is the economy: This Saturday, you can get a student haircut for just $5 — and your donation will raise money to help stop domestic abuse. Empire Education Group, a chain of cosmetology schools, is raising money for local women's shelters and for Cut It Out, an arm of the Salons Against Domestic Abuse Fund nonprofit. All proceeds from hair, skin, and nail services — not just the $5 specials — will go to fund this cause.
