Mo'Nique Goes Unshaven. What Do You Think?

I missed this on Sunday, but apparently Mo'Nique attended the Golden Globes with hairy legs. I know, breaking news, right? Actually, one paper thinks it is: a Daily News writer barely tries to conceal her horror in discussing the actress's leg hair. Mo'Nique, she writes, "forgot to take care of a little beauty matter before the awards - shaving her legs. And if she was at all embarrassed by her shaggy state, she didn't show it."

Pardon me while I facepalm. It's just leg hair, which is so not a big deal in my book. It bums me out that instead of focusing on the 14 awards Mo'Nique has won for her performance in Precious, someone's trying to shame her for kicking the Bic. Do you care one way or another if an actress shaves?

Do You Even Notice Other People's Earlobes?

Earlobe rejuvenation, a quick, less-than-an-hour, outpatient procedure to lift sagging ears is fast becoming a growing trend, particularly for American women in their 50s and 60s. "We make the earlobes look plumper, more rounded and smaller, giving a more youthful image," plastic surgeon Dr. Matthew Schulman told the Daily Mail.

Just like the neck and hands are known to show your age, the ears are often an area where people forget to apply sunscreen, thus speeding up the aging process. That, coupled with heavy earring wearing, has some women willing to spend £1,100 (about $1,750 USD) on the 40-minute procedure. But is that money well spent? Unless someone's ears are stretched out by earplugs or they're wearing lots of earrings, I hardly ever notice other people's earlobes at all. (And if I do, I don't think, "Wow, what a hag. She should really do something about that.") What about you?

Your Skin Might Not Be Getting the H2O It Needs

When it comes to cooking, I love to get my nom-nom-nom on. In fact, the Food Network pretty much runs at a constant loop in the Bella household. Are you a fan, too? Recently, I caught an episode of Food Detectives, a show hosted by Ted Allen of Queer Eye For the Straight Guy fame. The premise? The crew performs studies on food items, debunking facts and myths through use of science.

One particular episode stood out. Does drinking sufficient amounts of water daily really improve the appearance of skin? After giving one identical twin the appropriate levels of water for a week and the other twin half the serving, not surprisingly, the one who drank more had radiant skin. As for me, I'm headed straight to the water cooler. In the meantime, check out some fun facts from the episode when you read more.

Glug, glug: Our skin is made up of two to three gallons of water.
Find your number: Figure out your daily intake by using the formula: weight/2 = how many ounces of water to drink each day.
Are you dehydrated?: According to Dr. Jeanine Downie, who appeared in the episode, Caucasian skin tends to show dehydration with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while darker-toned skin appears blotchy.
