Bella Poll: Which Fall Makeup Trend Is Your Favorite?
Even though I've just returned from Spring 2009 Fashion Week, when it comes to beauty trends, I'm currently looking a little bit more into the near future. I'm all for planning ahead, but first I need to make a few purchases to update my cosmetics bag for Fall 2008.

What's the Silliest Beauty Trend You've Followed?
This past weekend, I finally checked out Le Magnetique, Lancome's new limited-edition nail polish that is part of the Mystery Game collection. The bottle has an inconspicuous magnet attached to it; the idea is that you paint your nails, then sweep the magnet across the polish before it dries. Because the polish is infused with oxides, the magnet creates a starburst pattern of sorts.

Katy Perry isn't the only celebrity hopping on the sparkly, encrusted nail bandwagon. Beyonce had similarly wild nails with heart-shaped jewels on them last night at the MTV Europe Awards, and Kristen Bell was sporting iridescent foiled nails recently, too. I think this trend is so creative and cool, but what about you?
Trend Alert: White Eye Shadow at the VMAs
You would have thought it was still pre-Labor Day with the way celebrities were wearing white eye shadow on the red carpet. Ladies from The Hills, from The City, and from just plain ol' Hollywood were all about the white out, whether, like Beyonce, they kept it subtle along their upper lids or, like Lauren Conrad, had major white shadow along the inner eyes and lots of black eyeliner along the outer. We already know that white nail polish is a major trend of the moment, so perhaps white eye shadows will also be hot this season.

On the red carpet last night, tons of celebrities played down their makeup, especially lips. As usual, there were lots of soft pinks and shimmers, but the dominant trend was nude, matte lips. Whether part of an understated look designed to let a dress or jewelry shine through, like Ginnifer Goodwin and Kristin Chenoweth, or as a soft foil to dramatic eyes, like Kim Kardashian and Mila Kunis, the matte lip is a sexy, subtle way to keep a dramatic look from being overdone.
