Another day, another fragrance ad that's bound to ruffle a few feathers. Yesterday, it was Tom Ford's crotchtastic photo and now it's Diddy's commercial. MTV has deemed his spot for Unforgivable Woman too racy to air. But he refuses to edit it, so now it's online. It's supposed to be sexy, but to me, it seems more cheesy than anything else. A guy who's not relationship material always lets you know; you just have to know what to look for.

When I look back at all the relationships that didn’t work out (that I so wanted to at the time), I realize that in every case, there were early warning signs that each guy gave me that could have given me some idea of the heartbreak I was about to experience if I had only been aware of what to look for. To spare you from what happened to me, to give you the inside scoop on what you can be on the lookout for, here’s my list of the warning signs that clearly let you know that this is a guy to avoid if it's a real relationship you're looking for.

He doesn’t call you when he says he’s going to.
Granted, I know that sometimes life can get it the way, and if he’s working late on that big project with the looming deadline it’s possible that time might get away from him once in a while. But if this happens more than once or twice, it’s a sure sign that you’re just not a priority for him right now. If a guy is really interested in starting (or continuing) a real relationship with you, you will be on his mind, and he won’t forget to call.
He’s often late and doesn’t call to let you know.
I know there are lots of reasons people can run late that are beyond their control (traffic jam, car problems, being stuck at the office), but a quick call from his cell phone will put your mind at ease, and let you know that you have a few more minutes to try on that one other outfit you were still considering. The point here is about being respectful of your time – we can forgive lateness, even chronic lateness (some people just aren’t good at judging how much time something will take), but not calling to let you know he’ll be a little late? That’s inexcusable and a sure sign that he’s not too concerned about you.
He doesn’t show up at all (and doesn’t call) when you have plans to see him.
OK ladies, unless he was (verifiably) unconscious in a hospital somewhere, getting stood up is a “one strike and you’re out” offense. There is absolutely no good reason for this (except the one above), and if you stay with him after a maneuver like that, you’ll be in for a very bumpy emotional ride that’s almost guaranteed to end badly. Cell phone reception is excellent these days (unless he’s a lumberjack working in the great North Woods), so this one is unforgivable.
He has rules about how often he can see you.
It’s one thing to have the boys’ “Wednesday Poker Night”, or something along those lines, but if he’s only willing to get together say, every other weekend (with the exception being a child custody situation), then that’s a sure sign he’s keeping his options open and still scouring the market for something better (at least in his mind – he just doesn’t realize that you’re the best thing going!).

Why Footloose Is So Bad It's Good

It probably won't shock you to hear that Footloose is not a cinematic masterpiece, but you might be pleasantly surprised to hear that it's pretty enjoyable. The movie, a remake of the 1984 film starring Kevin Bacon, tells the story of high schooler Ren (Kenny Wormald), who moves from Boston to the sleepy country town of Bomont, Georgia. Even though he finds that the town has outlawed dancing, Ren can't keep his feet from busting a move - or his eyes off the reverend's daughter, Ariel (Julianne Hough).

Footloose is basically the definition of guilty pleasure, which means it's as enticing to some as it is repellent to others. I had plenty of problems with the movie, but for each criticism, I managed to find a justification - and ultimately, I had a great time. Check out my reasons for why Footloose is so bad it's actually good.

The concept of banning dancing is completely outdated. There's a curfew and what seems like a general kibosh on having fun because of an incident that happened several years before, in which a car accident claimed the lives of a few of Bomont's teens. Since dancing was involved, the Reverend Shaw Moore (Dennis Quaid) puts forward a motion to ban any kind of dancing in public, which is obviously a super big buzzkill to the town's dance-happy kids. It somehow seems reasonable in 1984, but in 2011? Say it with me: "Really?!"
But . . . The remake is loyal to the original movie, using the same storyline, character names, even some exact scenes. Its devotion to the '80s flick and refusal to modernize it too much makes me appreciate it a bit more, because even though it's a remake, it still knows better than to mess too much with a classic.

Jennifer Lopez vs. Sean Combs: A Fragrant Battle of the Exes

Let the showdown begin! Sean Combs and Jennifer Lopez have each released fragrances in the past year: Jennifer's Deseo ($46–$56) and Diddy's Unforgivable Woman ($55–$75). It's not the first foray into the fragrance world for either, but with Deseo expected to make millions in its first year alone, and P. Diddy's nomination for a CEW award, these ex-lovahs both have a lot at stake. But whose scent is better? For a side-by-side comparison,

	Deseo by Jennifer Lopez	Unforgivable Woman by Sean John	Advantage?
The Ads	A scantily clad Lopez lounges in a hammock in a tropical locale. It's pretty, but haven't we seen this sort of thing before?	Big stud Sean is flanked by scantily clad women strewn across a bed, looking as though they've just engaged in some serious Diddy-diddlin'.	Diddy's ad seems like it belongs in a men's magazine of questionable pedigree. (In fact, his commercials were banned for being too racy). Jen's ad is just yet another glamour shot - nothing groundbreaking - but I'd rather be the woman in her ad than one of the women in Diddy's. So Jen wins, but just barely.
The Inspiration	"A midnight walk in Jennifer's flower garden just before a thunderstorm."	"The essence of sensuality that intoxicates the senses, that expresses what it is to be the unforgivable woman."	Prancing around in Jen's garden sounds a lot more enjoyable than being scolded with Diddy's unintelligible take on female sexuality. Lopez for the win!
Bottle	A faceted, angular turquoise glass with a gold top.	A traditional, minimalist light pink frosted bottle	J.Lo takes this one. Diddy's is unforgivably blah.
How it smells	Fruity and sweet with a hint of coconut.	Musky and spicy, with a strong note of Jamaican rum.	Diddy wins. His fragrance is slightly more complex, less sweet, and more daring - as long as you don't mind smelling a little boozy.

Inside the World of Celebrity Scents

Eighty-four percent of you say you're sick of celebrity fragrances, but you must be anomalies-because celeb perfumes are selling like crazy. Some of the interesting bits from the story:

There's big bucks in this business. Euromonitor International, a Chicago-based market research firm, reports that worldwide sales of the top seven celebrity scent lines-just the top seven!-totaled $353.6 million last year.
Diddy's sitting pretty. A lot of you find his Unforgivable ads cheesy, but the scent is doing just fine. Last year, it did $74.9 million in sales.
Inside the contract: Fragrance companies such as Coty and Elizabeth Arden produce and develop the fragrance, then the star's name goes on the bottle. Contract details are kept private, but the industry standard is to give the celeb 5–10% of sales, with a possible signing bonus.
Jennifer Lopez has made many cents out of scents. Forbes writes: "In 2006, Lopez's net worth was about $110 million, according to Forbes' list of the 20 richest women in entertainment-but her last CD was a flop, as were her last several movies. Sales of her fragrances, including Glow and Live Luxe, totaled $77 million in 2006."

What I'd really like to know-and what the story doesn't reveal, unfortunately-is the extent to which celebrities are involved in creating their scents. I've heard that Hilary Duff had a lot of input and feedback on hers, and I can see Gwen Stefani knowing what she wanted for L. Somehow, though, I'm not convinced that Britney Spears was actively involved in making Believe-at least, not with all of her personal drama this year.

The Most Powerful F Word: Forgiveness

We all know that sinking feeling of anger and resentment that creeps up when we least expect it. Whether your car got towed, your boyfriend ended things, or your parents constantly criticize your choices, you have two options of how to deal: you can make a scene or you can breathe and forgive. And it's not as easy as it sounds; after all, "forgiveness . . . is more than saying sorry." But it's worth it, and here's why.

Forgiveness is freedom. When we forgive, we are giving ourselves the chance to think new thoughts and perceive our experiences with a new consciousness. Everyone makes mistakes, and by forgiving, we allow those who have done us wrong a chance to redeem themselves. After we forgive, the relationship is fresh and new. We can look at things with an untainted perspective.
There is no future in the past. Letting go of what happened before is crucial. Holding on to past hurts only limits your future potential. And I know there are truly terrible things that happen that may seem unforgivable, but in order to move on, you've got to try to forgive. Otherwise, you're letting someone live rent-free in your head.
Holding a grudge hurts one person. And that person is you. When we build up grudges, they live in our minds. Think about it. If you seek serious revenge on an ex-boyfriend and you spend hours plotting different scenarios out in your mind, is that hurting him? Not at all. It's only hurting you. Holding onto anger and resentment can have really serious psychological implications. But if you give yourself a chance to reflect and forgive, you'll be a far happier lady.

4 Things You Shouldn't Tweet

I check Twitter several times a day (you could call me an addict), and I see a multitude of tweets that should have gone, well, untweeted. If you're an avid user of the microblogging site, you probably already know what is and isn't appropriate to tweet, but just in case you need a refresher, here're four things you should think twice about posting to your stream.

That you're looking for a new job . . . while still employed. - If you're tired of your current position, it's best to take the safe route in finding a new job to call home. Update your LinkedIn account, start sending out résumés, and for Pete's sake, don't start tweeting about how tired/bored/annoyed you are with your job and co-workers. Recruiters may spend a few minutes looking over your résumé, but you can bet they spend a ton of time Googling you and your online activity.
That you're single . . . before actually breaking up. - What's the worst way to break up with someone? A Post-it note or text message may be brutal, but finding out that your significant other is newly "single" on Facebook or Twitter is pretty unforgivable.
