wedding coverage across the Sugar network, we've given you lots of information when it comes to bridal beauty. This got me to thinking. While I've never taken a walk down the aisle myself, I've attended my fair share of weddings, and on a few occasions, I've been asked to assist the bride with her hair and/or makeup.

While I personally have not been asked to do anyone's wedding face, I did not hesitate to ask one of my sister-in-law's friends; she always looked fabulous and had some serious makeup skills. For my wedding, she glammed me up and I absolutely loved it! It was glamorous without being too much. And actually, it was that look that really inspired me to work on my makeup skills and gave life to my beauty addiction!
1My friend just got married. Before the ceremony she had her hair and makeup done by a professional. It was so over-the-top and completly unlike her that after this woman left, the bride cried in the bathroom and was about to take a shower so she could get all the hairspray and thick, pancakey makeup off.
2My friend is beautiful, very pale and freckled with fair light light blonde hair. This makeup person gave her a weave (four inches off her head) and put thick black eyeliner and dark brown lip liner (with pearly-pink lips!). My friend is a bit of a pushover so no one knew she hated it so much until after the person left. The bridemaids and I had to fix her hair and remove some makeup before she would come out of the bathroom again.
No, I've never been asked to do someone's wedding hair/makeup. I'm glad because I don't know if I could stand the pressure. I've had some beautiful makeup and some horrible makeup done by so-called "professionals" when I was a bridesmaid in several friends' weddings. For my wedding, some of my bridesmaids were pushing me to get my makeup professionally done, but I wasn't convinced. I wanted to stay natural and true to my toned-down style for my wedding, not look like someone who I (and my hubby-to-be) wouldn't recognize. While everyone else was on their way to the church for my wedding, I did my own makeup and my young cousin's (one of my bridesmaids) and it was a calm, relaxing bonding experience that I wouldn't have had otherwise...and my makeup looked just how I wanted it to!
3I wasn't asked, but I offered to do my sister's makeup for her wedding. She never wears any, and while she looks great without it, I figured she needed a little extra something on the big day. I begged her to at least let me put on a little mascara and gloss for the sake of her pictures. I didn't do much and I'm certainly not a professional, but she looked really good - like herself but a bit more polished.
4My cousin and Aunt asked me to do their makeup for my cousin's wedding. I was 16! But I did great makeup, the pictures came out perfectly! They still compliment me!
5i did my sister in laws makeup for her wedding, and another girl did her hair. shes Caucasian but since she had to be dolled up in an indian manner to match the clothes, i tried my best, and i think i did an okay job
6I've been asked to do makeup but passed-too much pressure.
7Yes, my best friend asked me to do her eye makeup last summer for her wedding, but she ended up finding a hair stylist who also was pretty good with makeup.
8My best friend wanted help, and I helped her. The only thing I am not comfortable doing on someone else is eyeliner/mascara. So afraid of poking them in the eye!
9my cousin Jess wanted me to do her makeup, but her hubby-to-be is a marine in Florida and I can't make it

10no, i don't flaunt my abilities in front of people, so not a lot of them know. but i always do mine, even for very big occasion and people always compliment me and ask where i got it done. ha ha, I've done it myself, DUH. I love doing it, creative process... why would I pay somebody to do that? And usually they do it worse than me.
11I did my makeup and hair for my wedding, I did my sisters hair and makeup for her wedding and helped out with makeup at my sister-in-laws wedding and the last time I was asked I said no, too much pressure. They wanted me to do all the girls and the brides hair and makeup. No thanks.
12i did my best friend's hair & makeup for her wedding last year. we had a great time getting ready together, and she absolutely loved it! she rarely wears makeup, so we kept it light and fresh. it was such a pleasure to make her so happy that day.
13No, but ladies should ask me. Nobody could believe I did my own wedding makeup, very Dita. People do ask me to pick out makeup for them.
14I did my sister's makeup for her wedding and I have to say I did a pretty good job
Although she is already beautiful to begin with!

16A friend of mine who NEVER wears makeup asked me to do hers on her wedding day. It was such an honor - and I didn't ask for payment, hearing people say how beautiful she looked was payment enough! XOXO
