How-To: Sheryl Crow's Country Music Awards Makeup

At the 2007 Country Music Awards, Sheryl Crow wowed the red carpet. Her hair was soft and wavy, her outfit was classy, and her makeup was polished.

I especially like the way her nude lips sparkle, taking years off of her face. Clearly there's more than just talent that makes this lady a shining country music star! The magic behind her makeup is none other than Chanel's secret weapon, makeup artist Angela Levin.

FACE: Angela actually stopped over to see Sheryl the night before to prep her skin with some Chanel Sublimage Cream so that it would be nice and hydrated for the event. The day of the event, she applied some Hydramax Plus Tinted Moisturizer in Sand to her face and then added some Cle de Peau Cream Foundation on top for more coverage.
CHEEKS: Then, to warm up the apples of her cheeks a little bit, she added a dusting of Senna Cosmetics bronzer and highlighter combo in Radiance Face Color Trio and blended along her cheekbones.
EYES: The goal was to create a natural, yet polished and defined eye. Angela began by blending the colors in the Chanel Quadra Eyeshadow in Golden Eyes together and then adding in some of Senna Cosmetics Double Effect Creamline Powder Duo in Midnight Magic. She finished the look with two coats of Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Noir.
LIPS: Lastly to create Sheryl's shiny, nude mouth, Angela applied a little bit of Herbal Lip Therapy in Cherry Almond and then topped them off with a special, sparkly Chanel Glossimer Lip Gloss in Sunset Gold.

We already checked out all the red carpet looks and now it's time to get down to the show at last night's Country Music Awards in Nashville. The big winners of the night were Carrie Underwood, who won Female Vocalist of the Year for the second year in a row and Single of the Year for "Before He Cheats," and for the guys Kenny Chesney who won Entertainer of the Year, and Brad Paisley, Male Vocalist of the Year. Check out the full list of winners here. An unexpected highlight for me was Kellie Pickler who got pretty emotional during her song, and on a random note Jamie Foxx's appearance. Meanwhile, I was expecting a whole lot of Jessica Simpson all over the CMAs and she was apparently in the auditorium, but kept herself out of the spotlight - she's more serious about country music than another photo op. Ha. Did any of you watch the show? Favorite moments? Shockers?

A Little Bit Country a Lot Glam on the CMA Red Carpet

It was jeans for some (Kid Rock, of course) and gowns for others at last night's 41st Annual Country Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee. Nicole Kidman definitely brought the most bang to the red carpet in her bold dress - sure it looks a little like one of those cheesy college dorm felt-y posters, but it's not like she can't pull it off. Carrie Underwood looked typically great while fellow former Idol-er Kellie Picker looked surprisingly demure for her. I must admit that Kate Walsh looked pretty smokin', finding a way to be on our ABC Wednesday night even when Private Practice was preempted for these awards. Underwood, Chesney, Paisley Take Top CMA Honors

The Country Music Association spread things around at the 41st annual CMA Awards on Wednesday, giving two awards apiece to Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley.

Underwood won the Female Vocalist of the Year category for the second year in a row, and she added an award for Single of the Year for "Before He Cheats." Chesney was named Entertainer of the Year and shared in the award for Musical Event of the Year. And Paisley finally won the Male Vocalist of the Year category after seven nominations; his video for "Online" also won the Music Video of the Year award.

Rascall Flatts, Sugarland and Taylor Swift were among the other winners. To see a full list, just read more

Love It or Hate It? LeAnn Rimes' CMA Look

It's been so long since LeAnn Rimes first burst onto the country scene, but at the Country Music Awards, she showed that she's no longer a teenage crooner. She's all grown up, wearing soft hues (I can't wait to see what Fab thinks about that dress) and lovely curls. Not to be nitpicky, but I would love to see her brows just a shade lighter--but really, with that kind of smile, I'm sure nobody's looking at her brows.

You know why Sheryl Crow has so much staying power? She's a little bit country, a little bit rock 'n' roll. (Sorry, you know I love puns.) I think her ability to look glamorous and low-maintenance at the same time is exemplified with this CMA makeup and hair. Does she look formal enough for such an event? Absolutely! Does she look like she spent all day getting ready? Not at all. What do you think of this look on her?

Say what you will about Nicole's lineless face, but you can't deny that the woman looks happy to be with hubby Keith Urban at the Country Music Awards. I like how she looks put-together and classy (as usual!) but she still looks modern and fresh. The rosy cheeks, the berry-colored lips, and the groomed eyebrows all flatter Nic's delicate features. And the hair? Well, I'd be hard-pressed to find a thing wrong with it... or, for that matter, Keith's hip haircut. What say you?

Love It or Hate It? Jennifer Hanson's CMA Look

Women with honey-colored hair often look stunning in blue, and Jennifer Hanson is no exception. At the Country Music Awards, that rich shade of cerulean made her hair really glow. Showing a few roots (maybe she read about that trend?) and I think it suits her. Her eye shadow is as bold as her dress, but is it too much color? What do you think?
