To conclude my series, The Best Blush For Your Skin Tone, l've explored the market for bright plums, oranges, deep auburns, bronzes and burn reds that flatter ebony skin tones. You gals can get away with a lot of color, and the good news is that these shades can significantly brighten your complexion. So don't be shy! Go for the bold, but remember to blend, blend, blend-or you'll risk looking like a clown!

Guerlain Divinora Bubble Blush in Rouge Lollipop ($38) is a super-smooth creamy mouse blush/tint that blends really well into skin. Its bright red-orange color gives you a radiant glow. Remembering Eunice Johnson, Fashion Fair Founder

This weekend, we found out about the passing of Eunice Johnson. While hers might not be a household name, her endeavors certainly are. It's hard to know where to begin describing her many accomplishments.

Born in 1916, she was a driven and motivated woman who helped shape popular culture for decades. After earning a degree in sociology from Talladega College, she received a master's degree in social work at Loyola University; it was in Chicago that she married John H. Johnson, with whom she founded Ebony in 1942. As one of the oldest and largest magazines for an African-American audience, it paved the way for her to create the Ebony Fashion Fair in 1958. The traveling runway show, which hits hundreds of cities each year, has helped launch the careers of models like Pat Cleveland and actors like Richard Roundtree.

It was through the Ebony Fashion Fair that Johnson got her next idea. After cosmetics companies showed little response to her requests for makeup that would fit darker skin tones, Johnson founded Fashion Fair Cosmetics in 1973. The first department-store line for Black women, its success prompted Avon and Revlon to launch their own lines for women of color. To this day, Fashion Fair remains the largest Black-owned cosmetics company in the world. Eunice Johnson was 93; her daughter Linda Johnson Rice now serves as CEO of Johnson Publishing, which continues to publish Ebony and its sister publication, Jet.

Coming Soon: Illamasqua Powdered Metals

Due out 13th July is a new face powder from Illamasqua called Powdered Metals (£22). At first glance it looks similar to a bronzer or a large vat of loose shimmer shadow, and actually it's both of these products and a whole lot more! I love it because it's multi-purpose, and in the face of a credit crunch, let's face it, individual beauty products just aren't as practical.

Powdered Metals will be available in three shades (Erzule, Bebhionn and Thalia) to best suit varying skin tones. Unlike the intense star product from the Sirens Collection called Liquid Metals, it was designed to create a golden sheen (not shimmer) that makes you look like you're glowing from the inside out.

It can be worn all over the face, as a body shimmer, an eye shadow or simply dusted along your collarbone and in your hair for a hint of the Midas touch. Personally, I like wearing it on the highest parts of my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, temples and chin as a highlighter.

Erzule , the Voodoo Goddess of Beauty, is a goldeny bronze with a brown base that looks best on those with olive or ebony skin tones.
Thalia, the Greek Goddess of Poetry, is a warm bronze with a gold undertone that is best suited for medium skin tones.
Bebhion, is the Irish Goddess of Pleasure, is the lightest bronze shade with pink undertones. This looks great against pale or fair skin.

BellaSugar's Top Five Peach Blush Picks

A peach blush is a wonderful way to warm up any skin tone. You can wear a pale shade if you have fair skin or a deeper, more coral shade if you have olive or ebony skin. It's a great alternative to pink blush because it's neutral and won't clash with a last-minute change to, say, red lipstick or purple eye shadow. I happen to think that peach blush also looks amazing paired with a teal, blue, or green shadow and/or liner.

My prized peach blush is Lorac Blush for Cheeks in Peach ($18). It's the deepest of the bunch that I've listed below, and the tawny color gives me a healthy-looking and almost bronzed flush.

Becca Soft Touch Blush in Malika ($32) is neutral, so it's my go-to color when I want that no-makeup makeup look. It is a sparkly, semi-matte formula with light pigment that gives your cheeks an ethereal glow. It blends well and looks best when applied to apples of the cheeks.
Benefit Georgia ($28) is a heaven in a box. This gentle peach powder blush contains a soft shimmer that gives you the type of glowing-from-the-inside radiance. It warms up the skin and even comes with a cute square brush that fits neatly inside.
Dior Pro Cheeks Ultra-Radiant Blush in Hip Peach ($30) has a creamy, whipped-mousse consistency. It contains shimmer for a subtle highlighting effect and it blends effortlessly. The color is just right for medium-toned skin, since it's not too dark and not too light.
Shu Uemura Glow on Blush in Peach (#42) ($21) is a pale peach silky powder blush that contains a touch of sparkle. It acts as both a natural color and a highlighter and looks great when applied to your cheeks, nose, chin, and temples - a must have for any complexion!

If you're a Savvy working woman, it can be challenging to always look fresh and polished when you are constantly running around. That's how Cassandra Mills felt. Formerly a high-powered record exec, she's now the founder and CEO of Haute Face. Not only did she have limited time for beauty, she became increasingly frustrated in the lack of shade-appropriate foundations available for women with ebony skin.

After talking with other women of color, she realized that they were also having similar struggles, so she decided to change careers and create her own makeup line for women of all races. I've tested out some of the bold and neutral shades and I'm impressed. I especially like the color palette ($69) since it includes lip shades, blush, eye shadows, foundation, concealer, and a powder. This is a score since we all know how difficult finding an all-inclusive palette can be.

The color palette is available in seven shades to match seven different skin tones. On the website, just click on the girl whose skin looks most like yours to see the colors that suit you best. I found that the creamy products glide on smoothly and the powder shadows blend well.

And I really love the sheer, matte Blonde Ambition face powder since it's a dead match to my skin tone. Not only that, but it also doesn't make my face look old and wrinkly like some powders can. I've been getting asked a lot of questions lately about how to find the right shade of blush for your skin tone. I admit, even I get distracted by playful pinks and oranges at the makeup counter, but then when I get home, they look way too bright on me.

As a general rule, blush is the most flattering when it looks natural. The shade you choose should resemble your natural flush and looks best when applied to the apples of your cheeks, your cheekbones and the sides of your face, but never underneath your cheekbone area. I hope that within this nine-post round up, you can find the perfect blush that best suits your skin tone!

Front Row Beauty: Erin O'Connor vs Emilia Fox

At the Erdem show actress Emilia Fox and model Erin O'Connor worked their catwalk beauty credentials, albeit in very different ways. Erin went for a typically understated look with minimal lip colour and just a hint of mascara. Her ebony hair and pale skin provide a striking contrast, although I do like seeing her with red lipstick.

Emilia glammed it up with smoky black eyes, a hair twist and peachy blush for a pretty effect. I really like her lip colour but I'm not sure why she felt the need to suck in her cheeks quite so much for this photo.

The Best Blusher For Your Skin Tone: Fair Skin

Thanks to the help of Jane Richardson, an expert makeup artist for Nars, I've created another great BellaSugar series on the various shades of blush that are best suited for fair, medium, yellow-toned, olive and ebony skin.

The first thing to consider when choosing a blush is to try and match it with your natural flush. So after you've gotten out of the shower, or after you've just exercised, take a long look at your face. Next, look at the undertones of your skin. If they are rosy or pink, you'll want to err on the side of neutrals so that your blush isn't too overpowering.

Nars Blush in Amour ($25) is made from very sheer pigments that create a soft look. The blush can be layered for depth and contouring. Amour is a a peachy-pink hue that will give skin an innocent flush. It creates a warm and healthy glow that won't look too heavy or cakey on your cheeks.

Jennifer Aniston looks amazing in the November issue of Harper's Bazaar. The story and images went up a few weeks ago on PopSugar and now I've got all the deets on her flawless face.

Once again, the talented Chanel makeup artist Angela Levin (remember her from Jennifer Connelly's Hollywood Film Festival Look?) worked her magic to give Jen tanned, radiant-looking skin, bright eyes, and a glossy pink pout. It could go wrong, but somehow she made it look very natural.

FACE: Angela began by priming Jennifer's skin with Benefit's Dr. Feelgood. She then added a little bit of Chanel's gorgeous Teint Innocence Fluide in Wheat mixed with some Cle de Peau Teint Naturel Powder Creme in O30 as a base.
CHEEKS: Next, she applied some of Stila Convertible Cheek Color in Orchid (which is discontinued now, FYI) to the apples of her cheeks and blended outward. And so that her skin didn't look too shiny, she added a touch of Chanel Silky Cheek Colour in In Love to her cheekbones. This is also a great contour color.
EYES: To create this clean, smoldering look that makes Jen's blue eyes pop, Angela used Chanel Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Ebony, to the crease and then blended in the colors from the Les Divines Mattes Quadra Eyeshadow, also by Chanel. Next, she applied some of Nars Cream Shadow in Demon Lover. As a final touch, Angela layered on two coats of Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Noir.
LIPS: For this perfect pink shimmery lip, Angela applied Chanel Glossimer Lip Gloss in Bel-Air to Jennifer's lips.

How-To: Nicole Kidman's Oscars Makeup

Nicole Kidman turns up on the red carpet with a flawless hair and makeup combo each and every time. Last night, she showed up at the Oscars in soft, feminine makeup and a pretty sideswept bun.

Her makeup artist for the evening, Angela Levin, created Nicole's look with Chanel products. To find out how to get this look for yourself, read more.

Face: Nicole's skin was given a light layer of foundation and a touch of concealer to even out her skin tone.
Eyes: Angela wanted to give Nicole a dramatic, smoky eye. To do this, she used Chanel Soft Touch Eyeshadows in Silvery and Ebony on the lids, and then lined the eyes with Chanel Le Crayon Khol Intense Eye Pencil in Graphite and Noir to make Nicole's sky-blue eyes really pop. She finished off the eyes with a generous coating of Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Noir.
Lips: Angela painted Nicole's pout in a soft, pretty shade of pink by using Chanel Rouge Allure in Darling.
