2009 American Music Awards: Best Dressed
A wide range of personalities and styles stepped onto the American Music Awards red carpet tonight. And while there was some color, the best looks were neutral, black, and all-a-glitter. From Rihanna's laser cut Marchesa to Kristen Bell's cool Christian Cota skirt and top, silhouettes were experimental.

Most of you were loving this red eyeliner look when Rihanna sported it earlier this week, but this time she's gone for a cool, almost airbrush effect. She keeps the rest of her makeup simple, and her hair is funky but not busy.

Rihanna was one of the last to arrive at today's American Music Awards in LA. It's the first award show red carpet she's done in eight months, and it looks like her unique sense of style and love of dramatic dresses hasn't gone anywhere. She's also among the exciting performers scheduled during the show ahead of her album release tomorrow.

She is the guest editor of MSN's music channel on Monday, and she's spoken with them about her plans for holiday season. When asked what she wants for Christmas, she replied: "some great food and some great sex"!

Rihanna landed at LAX late last night after performing earlier in the day on the Royal Caribbean's cruise ship in Ft. Lauderdale. She spent most of her week overseas in Europe where she performed and partied with Jay-Z and Beyonce while promoting Rated R.

She was rolling solo after a fun evening out with Jay-Z and Beyonce on Tuesday that even included a special duet. Rihanna isn't exactly alone, though, since she's rumored to have a new guy in the picture — she was spotted recently getting cozy with 90210's Tristan Wilds.
Who Wore It Better? H&M Multicolored Sweater Dress
One multicolored H&M sweater dress, two completely different ways. Rihanna opted for an eccentric version, wearing it with a Louis Vuitton fanny pack, chunky combat boots, and a chain necklace. Alternately, Katy wore her sweater dress in a womanly way, with high-heeled over-the-knee boots, a double-strap belt, and metallic bag.
