There are many factors that go into choosing the right eyeglass frames. You can look to your face shape, skin tone, hair color, and of course - personality. Like I've said before, there is no magic formula. But if you're looking for some help in choosing your frames, you've come to the right place. Much like there are eye palettes to enhance your eye color, you could try employing the same technique with your glasses, choosing either a complementary or coordinating color to make your lovely eyes stand out even more. Make Your Eye Color Pop With the Right Shadow Shades

Earlier this week I gave you the scoop on how to achieve Hayden Panettiere's Emmy look straight from Amy Oresman, who was responsible for the young star's eye-popping makeup. While we were at it, she shared some tips on how to make the most of your eye color. So if you've ever wondered which shades will make your eyes stand out, read on.

For green eyes: Use a warm, pink, or rose tone on the crease and underneath the eye. "That makes sparkling green eyes shine even brighter," Oresman says. She likes Neutrogena's Nourishing Eye Duo in Fairy Dust ($8.79) eye shadow.

For blue eyes: To make blue eyes sizzle, use warm bronze tones. (This cheapie quad is a great example.)

For brown eyes: "Brown-eyed babes have it made, because any warm tone works to enhance their beguiling dark eyes," Oresman says. To create a dramatic contrast against the color of the pupil and the whiteness of the eye, line the waterline of the eyes with eyeliner. (Here's how.)

Eye Palettes To Enhance Your Eye Color: Blue Eyes

Welcome to my fourth and final installment of my Eye Palettes to Enhance Your Eye Color series. This post focuses on blue eye shadows to make your baby blues look bad ass!

After consulting with many makeup mavens and experts, I've discovered that it takes more than just one color to make blue eyes bold. The perfect palette is hard to come by, but I've found a few that get the job done well. Each of these include three to five shades of just the right blue hues to perfectly enhance your eyes.

The lightest neutral shade is the accent color that should go just beneath your brow-bone, the medium color should be swept all over your lid and the darkest gets applied to the crease.

Pop Beauty Eye Cake in Blue Eyes, $19, is a gorgeous palette consisting of five different colors designed to bring out the pop in your blue eyes. The colors are smooth in texture and rich in pigment and will draw oodles of attention to your eyes. Consider yourself warned baby!

Sephora Colorful Eye Shadow Palette in Jean Attitude 02, $24, is a collection of four blue-hued silky soft shadows. They are formulated with vitamins and herbal green tea to soothe your delicate eye area.

This palette comes in a cute (and rather large) circular compact that also includes a double-ended applicator. You can use all of the shades wet or dry, separately or blended together.

Eyeshadow Trio Expert Wear by Maybelline in Blue Slate, $5.29, is an inexpensive way to experiment with color. These powder shadows are long-wearing, crease, smudge, and streak resistant. EYESHADOW 101: The Best Hues For Your Baby Blues

Welcome back to Eyeshadow 101. The first installment was all about purple shadows for hazel/green eyes. #2 is dedicated to finding the best suited eyeshadows for all of you blue eyed beauties. Whether you have more of a sky blue tone or an oceany navy-green darker eye color; men will melt when they catch a glimpse of your baby blues.

Let's begin with a short reiteration of the basics from installment #1. The goal of wearing eye make-up is to enhance/bring attention to your eyes. The rule of thumb is to wear the opposite color eye shadow of your eyes on the color wheel so that your eyes really stand out (or POP as they say in the make-up world).

If there’s one thing to remember when it comes to blue eyes it's this: Never match your eyeshadow to your clothing or your eye color! If you have blue eyes, wearing blue eyeshadow makes your eyes look duller - and complementing your clothing has been out since the 80’s. Imagine if you were wearing red or black? YIKES!

To specifically make your blue eyes traffic stoppingly bold, I suggest colors such as: browns, greys, golds, rusty peaches or plum colors. Right now the look is more of a bold eye as opposed to the old muted "Bobbi Brown" natural eye, so have fun and play with your make-up as you would with any other accessory.

As we know metallics are hot right now and they are easy to use alone. Just apply them to the lid and crease. My bronze and gold pics for blue eyes are:
"Half Baked" by Urban Decay - a really rich gold,

"Amber Lights" by MAC - a shimmery golden peachy-brown (worn by model> and

"Beach"Fluid Iridescent Eyeshadow by Chanel - the perfect combination of bronze and gold.

MAC also makes an awesome eyeliner called Teddy which is a darker shimmery bronze that looks great with any of these shadows.

If you are going for the whole shebang (lid, crease and highlighter) these are my suggestions. Typically, the lightest color is applied to the entire eyelid and to the edge of the eyebrow. Select a deeper color from the same color family to do the crease and dust a highlighter just beneath the brow.

I love Done That by Make Up By Armando for the lid,

MAC's Trax (a burgundy-plum flecked with bronze shimmer) for the crease and

Smashbox's Butter a goldy yellow as a highlighter.

Don't forget to blend well; when you think you've blended enough, blend some more! The goal is not to have obvious edges of color. Remember, lighter colors highlight and darker colors recede and add depth and shading.

Blue is Back, Part I: Green-Blue Eye Shadows

Blue makeup is back, and I'm not talking about subtle icy pastels or navys. I mean bold turquoise, ocean and sea-foam greeny-blue hues! If you think that you can't pull these off because of your eye color, think again! These new shades have no rules. Just remember a few helpful hints and you'll look fab this fall.

Choose shades that aren't too matchy with your eye color, and remember to blend well! Also, if you are going to wear bold, daring color on your eyes, then keep the rest of your makeup light.

Dior Eye Show in Aquadelic ($30) is a creamy, soufflé-textured, waterproof eye shadow that puts other color pots to shame. You just need a super-small amount to make a big impression! These shadows used to be the secret of Dior makeup artists, but now they are available to the masses!

Blue is Back, Part II: Turquoise Blue Eye Shadows

Part II of my series on bright blue makeup focuses on turquoise eyeshadow. Elizabeth Taylor first made the azure eye famous when she played Cleopatra. This season, history repeats itself and we see all kinds of color-blocking fashions, with cosmetics following suit.

You don't need to be quite as dramatic as Taylor, who paired her bold blue shadow with a dramatized wing-tip liner. But then again, who's to say that you can't walk like an Egyptian if you want to?

Nars Eye Shadow Duo in South Pacific ($31) is a shimmering turquoise and a dark aquamarine powder eye shadow duo that can be layered for a dramatic, edgy evening look or dusted lightly over the eye for a soft romantic twist on the traditional smoky eye.

Backstage Pass To LFW Spring 2010: House Of Blue Eyes

The House of Blue Eyes Spring 2010 Fashion Show took place at Jalouse nightclub on Friday evening. The makeup was created by Illamasqua Artisitc Director Alex Box who collaborated with Johnny Blue Eyes on the futuristic, Egyptian with a twist of Sci-Fi style.

The clothing had a kind of 80's, burnished gold, androgynous edge to it, so they wanted the makeup to reflect the same kind of look. Even the men wore as much (if not more) makeup than the women.

Walking in the show was Britain's Next Top Model Winner Mecia Simone Simson who looked gorgeous (pictured here) and showed us all that she can really strut her stuff.

FACE/CHEEKS: To begin, skin was prepped with Satin Primer to create a flawless glow. Next, Cream Foundation was mixed with a touch of Powdered Metal in Bebhion to create a glistening base. Cheeks were contoured with Powdered Metal in either Erzule or Thalia to create an 80's, sculpted look. Then, good old fashioned masking tape was applied in a "v" shape on the face so that when Liquid Metal in Solstice (the gold colour) was liberally painted on, there would be perfect symmetry. To create depth, the Powdered Metals were also used to sculpt the sides of the nose and over temples. Illuminator in Halcyon was also used under the brows and down the centre of the nose.
EYES: Brows were also quite strong. To acheive this look, Alex used Eye Brow Cake in Vehement mixed with Sealing Gel. Then, False Lashes in 15 were applied to the top lashes and False Lashes in 13 were used on the lower lashes to create a rabbit in the headlights type of look. Finally, Liquid Metal in Enrapture was smoothed over the lid for a burnished finish and were defined with Medium Pencil in Sophie.
LIPS: Lips were left almost bare, with just a small dab of Sheer Lipgloss in Brilliant smudged on top of Cream Foundation for a glossy finish.
