Bobbi Brown Beautiful October Launches

New from Bobbi Brown are sixteen exciting additional colours to two already existing brand favourites. First up is Metallic Long Wear Cream Shadow (£16). This silky soft eye shadow now contains eight amazing new hues formulated with shimmer. I get really excited about this product because it's easy to apply, it lasts all day, it never smudges and the formula is light, smooth and it blends well. My fave is black pearl, a pinky-purple that goes on quite sheer.

Next are the Rich Colour Lip Glosses (£14). Whilst the older version of Bobbi's glosses are quite possibly the gooiest on the market, these have been formulated with more intense colour, medium shine and less stickiness. They are perfect for anyone looking for a one-stop-shop product that falls somewhere between a creamy lipstick and a shiny gloss. The eight shades range from nude and neutral to flirty and bright. How Much Do You Spend Before Finding the Right Foundation?

How many foundations do you try before you hit the right one? Is it two, five, or even 10? Bobbi Brown Cosmetics recently commissioned a study of 1,000 makeup-wearing residents of the UK to find out. And if you're constantly on a foundation quest like me, the results probably won't surprise you.

British women try about seven different foundations before finding the perfect one, costing a whopping £125, or approximately $200 USD. The study also concluded that 42 percent of those women find that the dreaded "tide line," aka jawline demarcation, is their worst nightmare. (Their worst!) Bobbi Brown Just Keeps Reinventing The Basics

Far from the MAC's and the Shu Uemura's of the world, Bobbi Brown's neutral makeup palettes have made and kept her famous for nearly two decades. Every once and again she'll veer into bright colours or punchy sheers, but for the most part, modernising her trusty camouflage browns, greens and creams are her signature. Bobbi says, "Nude doesn't mean monochromatic, barely-there makeup. It means makeup that's right for your skin. Nude makeup never goes out of style - it's polished, sophisticated and always looks modern."

That's why her latest launch, the New Nude Collection for Autumn 2009 is a collection of perfection. It's comprised of a six shadow eye palette, four creamy lipsticks (one is even called Twilight - how funny) and a dark brown cream liner. However, perhaps the star product is the Nude Shimmer Brick. We've seen this long-time fave in an array of shades before, but this nude version acts like bronzer/highlighter all in one. It's beautiful and can be worn on the eyes, cheeks, over blusher and even on your body for a touch of sparkle. Nude Eye Palette: (£42) is an Autumn must-have. It's sleek and easy to travel with. Inside it contains six neutral shades of creams, champagnes and browns that can be worn day or night. There are three textures; soft matte, lightly pearlized, and metallic.
Nude Shimmer Brick: (£29) is now available in an array of nudes. It's stunning as it contains five pearlized colours of pink, gold, bronze, beige, and caramel. Each of the colours can be worn alone or blended together for a soft glow.
Creamy Lip Colour: (£15) is an old formula with four new moist and rich shades in Soft Blush, Rose Bud, Rose Garden and Twilight - a brown nude. I wonder if Robert Pattinson was Bobbi's inspiration?
Caviar Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner: (£15) is a brand-new, deep, dark brown shade that can be applied with a brush.

Add a Little Shimmer To Your Summertime Shimmy

I was never a big endorser of body bronzers in year's past, but with the launch of this over-sized, dazzling and just the right amount of sparkly Shimmer Brick For Body from Bobbi Brown (£50), I'm totally addicted.

You apply it with the biggest, fluffiest brush that you can find and go to town on your legs, abs, face, decolletage and shoulders. It gives you a gorgeous tinge of tan, with a generous amount of radiance and no traces of orange or glitter whatsoever. It's sublte, sexy and the ultimate body must-have product for Summer.

I'm also a fan of Model Co's Airbrush Illuminiser (£28) because it provides a touch of twinkle with an easy and fun to use mess-free mist applicator. Magnificent Matte Bronzers For All Skin Tones

The bronzers I prefer are matte and come in the form of a pressed powder. I like the way they give you a soft, subtle and natural-looking tan without the distraction of shimmer all over your face. Also, they can double as a contour colour when you're looking to define your jaw or sculpt your cheekbones. When I talk about matte bronzers to my friends, I often hear them complain about the muddy effect they can evoke. However, I say hogwash to that! If you've exfoliated and you blend well using a fluffy brush on the areas of your face that would brown naturally (temples, cheeks, nose, and chin), then you're golden - pun intended!

Three of my favourites right now are Bobbi Brown's Bronzing Powder (£21.53) because the powder is soft and blends easily. Too Faced Chocolate Soleil (£13.50) contains real cocoa powder. Not only does it smell good, but it also helps neutralize any red undertones. Last not least is one I thought I'd remind you about again - my old buddy Bourjois Bronzing Powder (£7.75). Get excited, because as of yesterday, the new Summer Nautical Collection from Bobbi Brown is available. This limited-edition, sheer makeup range consists of six cheek tints, six lip glosses, a new mascara and a seven-pan pastel powder eye shadow palette. Of course the cheek tints (£15.66) can also be used on your eyes and lips (I'm especially kvelling over the bright, pink and coral shades) to create flushed cheeks and just-bitten, wet-looking lips. The Popsicle colour (£13.70) (a hot poppy pinky-red) is to die for - take my word!

Sheer Color Cheek Tint (£15.66) is a great, easy to travel with cream blush packaged in a tube with a wide face to make application easy. It comes in six sheer shades (but don't get me wrong, they all have punch) in Raspberry, Mauve, Lilac, Pink, Blackberry and Coral. The formula is lightweight, non-greasy and it blends well.
Limited Edition Sheer Color Lip Gloss(£13.70) has the same consistency as Bobbi's other uber-sticky glosses, however, this time around the colours look like jams. They're sheer, wearable and have a translucent finish that gives your more of a hint of colour than the bold shade in the tube. The four available shades are Cabana Coral, Marina Pink, Popsicle and Sailor.
Perfectly Defined Mascara (£16.64) comes in a soft bendy tube which makes it fun to hold. Even better is the brand-new consistency that has been created to separate, lengthen and curl each lash without clumping. It's available so far only in black.
Eye Shadow Palette (£35) This amazing addition to the collection makes travel easy. The seven shimmery shadows can be worn alone or blended together depending on the looking you're going for. There's even a dark shade that can be used for your brows and as a liner, and three medium crease shades in addition to the other fun pastels. Also, there's a mirror at the top of the compact and a double-ended brush inside.
