Lo-poo, plopping, drip dry — I've pretty much got a good rhythm going on for my curly mane. But, since I'm still sensitive to keeping my relaxed hair as healthy and breakage-free as possible, I'm constantly tweaking my products. Although I could rattle off the reasons for going sulfate-free, I've got a new obsession: balancing my hair pH levels.

If you've got relaxed-yet-wavy hair (like curly Bella), you've probably at least heard of "wrapping." The technique can help breakage-prone or frizzy hair preserve sleek styles while you sleep or work out. Whether it involves chemically straightened, flat-ironed or blow-dried tresses, wrapping provides less stress on your hair and holds straightness through the night with a satin sleep cap or scarf.

If you have curly hair, it's probably taken you a while to figure out your perfect beauty regimen. Reader Ineedcaffeine uses Aussie Catch the Wave Sprunch Hair Spray ($3.30) in her daily routine, and here's why:
I have very curly hair, and I am very particular about my whole process. I often use different shampoos/conditioners/products each time I wash my hair, but Sprunch Spray is the only thing I use on a daily basis.

And wavy hair wavy? Well, as you may have suspected, it does have to do with genetics, but other factors influence hair growth as well. According to Proctor and Gamble, researchers do not completely understand why some hair twists and turns and some lays flat, but here are the most commonly accepted theories.

It's curly-haired Bella back with an update for all my no-poo and plopping pals. I've been keeping my regimen of sulfate-free shampoo and recently added a new step: Since I'm still feeling on the right side of my upside-down drying technique (aka plopping), I've taken to doing this while in the shower as well.
No, I'm not a gymnast – I bend down so the top of my head faces my toes.

Hi, it's curly-haired Bella here with an update on that whole no-poo/ plopping conversation. To refresh your memory, the first step to no 'poo is using shampoos without sulfates and, as I happened to be nearing the bottom of my bottle anyway, I hunted for items falling into this category for my next purchase.
Instead of taking the no-shampoo-period route, I sought out those without surfactants – no sodium laureth sulfate, sodium lauryl sulfate or ammonium laureth sulfate – to still have some power to rinse out my product.

Upon sitting down to dinner last night, my pal announced, "I will never use normal towels again." Now, she's rather dramatic, so I expected her to launch into a tale of why towels were the reason for all the world's problems. No dice.

Whenever I think long hairstyles, TeamSugar is one of my favorite go-to gals. Remember her Angelina Jolie-esque bun? This time, TeamSugar volunteered to try out the Remington Emi Airwave Anti-Static Style System ($25), an ionic blow dryer that uses a nifty little attachment to create beachy waves.

The Sundance Film Festival is in full effect, as were Eliza Dushku's tousled, natural curls, styled courtesy of Living Proof, a humidity-resistant line created by a MIT professor. While I love the classy, structured retro waves that were hot at this year's Golden Globes, I'm liking Dushku's more everyday version. And I've got the how-to on creating these shiny, natural curls at home:
Depending on the length of your hair, apply 10-15 sprays of No Frizz Wave Shaping Spray ($24) and 10-15 sprays of No Frizz Straight Making Spray ($24).

Last night at Madonna's directorial premiere of Filth and Wisdom, there was quite a similarity between two sexy ladies, namely the material girl herself and red-headed starlet Lindsay Lohan. Am I sensing a trend with these very distinct "undulating waves," as they are known in the hair biz? So tell me, who rode the hair wave best in this battle of the curly girlies?
