New Product Alert: Daisy Marc Jacobs Beauty Booty

I know it's some sort of unwritten rule that women are supposed to go gaga for everything Marc Jacobs does, but lately he's been turning out one stinker after another. I miss the quirky, nerdy Marc of yesteryear - the kind of designer who'd come up with something kooky and fun. Something like this collection of beauty accessories, actually.

After launching Daisy Marc Jacobs last year, he (okay, more accurately, his design team) has come up with a fresh, fun collection of beauty gear available exclusively at Sephora. The slightly retro floral design reminds me of something a cool girl in 1963 might have carried. Could this be a return to the days of Dorky Marc? My fingers are crossed.

Daisy Marc Jacobs Pour Sephora Treasure Beauty Case ($50) has a daisy on top, embossed logo, and dividers to store all of your goodies.

Daisy Marc Jacobs Pour Sephora Pretty Pouch Trio ($38) features three metallic gold cosmetics bags.

Daisy Marc Jacobs Pour Sephora Cushy Brush Set ($70) is cushy indeed. I love the way it looks, but I'd need to see the brushes to know if the set is reasonably priced.

Daisy Marc Jacobs Pour Sephora Luxe Vanity Case ($90) is my favorite. (Of course I like the most expensive thing. Ugh.) This fold-out case features two drawers, three trays, and two foldout pockets in the front.

Daisy Marc Jacobs Pour Sephora Soap Trio Delight ($15) is a set of three soaps. They're cute, but after they're wet, they won't look as cute.

Marc Jacobs Gives Londoners A Reason to Go Window Shopping

One of the month's most anticipated fragrances is Daisy Marc Jacobs. In typical Marc style, he couldn't simply hire a model and call it a day. Instead, he's going for a more creative method of promotion in London. Harvey Nichols, the posh department store with the UK exclusive for the fragrance, is unveiling its first-ever scratch-and-sniff windows this Friday. The plan is to install fields of scented daisies in the windows and let Londoners fall in love with the scent.

Marc Jacobs Spruces Up London Cabs

Getting a cab has never been so on-trend. From this week until 19th October, designer Marc Jacobs is giving those iconic London black taxis a beauty makeover. As part of the promotion for his floral fragrance Daisy, Jacobs will be adorning black cabs in London with the perfume's namesake flower as well as doing up the taxicabs' interiors with pretend daisy fields.

The idea behind the project is that the network of black cabs in London work much like a chain of daisies, with each one looking like the others and yet being uniquely individual. It also brings to mind that other break time activity during primary school; trying to spot four leaf clovers. Spot a participating cab and you'll be in for a stroke of luck, especially as they'll be eau de parfum on the seats thanks to Coty prestige, the company behind Marc Jacobs' Daisy fragrance.

Look out for certain daisy cabs handing out Marc Jacobs Daisy lollipops to special customers. If only they came with free Marc Jacobs bags I'd be taking cabs all month. Who needs the tube now, huh?

Fab Flash: Daisy Lowe for Marc by Marc Jacobs

Fab favourite Daisy Lowe has this week been revealed as the new face of Marc by Marc Jacobs. Daisy is following in the footsteps of Victoria Beckham who fronted the campaign last year, Sofia Coppola and Meg White.

Jacobs told WWD, “I think she looks adorable," and I couldn't agree more! The Spring/Summer '09 campaign will be shot by Juergen Teller. Whilst Daisy appears in the ads for the younger line, Raquel Zimmerman will front the womenswear collection.

Earlier this year Daisy appeared in ad campaigns for Agent Provocateur, Diesel, Converse All Stars and Doc Martens.

Beauty Byte: Marc Jacobs Launching Daisy Fragrance

It's no secret that FabSugar loves Marc Jacobs, as do millions of other young fashionistas. I'm also a fan, particularly of Jacobs' Splash fragrance line. Now, Women's Wear Daily tells us that Jacobs' next scent, called Daisy, will be released in August. Very smartly, Jacobs is using the sunny scent to go after younger customers. According to the article:

“We wanted to do something that had a youthful, fresh spirit,” Jacobs said of his scent, aptly called Daisy Marc Jacobs. Speaking during an exclusive phone interview Wednesday afternoon, he said, “Daisy is more youthful, while my gardenia and jasmine scents [Marc Jacobs for women and Blush Marc Jacobs, respectively] are more singular and definitely more ‘designer’ scents. I don’t want to say they’re older, but they’re more sophisticated.”

The floral fragrance will have top notes of strawberry, violet leaves, and ruby-red grapefruit, plus gardenia, jasmine, and other accents. Daisy will also get a wider distribution than Jacobs' other, more mature fragrances, and it will be offered exclusively by Bloomingdale's in the first month. To top it all off, the bottle will have three plastic daisies adorning the cap. I can't wait to pop open a bottle.

Fab Ad: Daisy Lowe for Marc by Marc Jacobs

Back in November I told you that Daisy Lowe had been snapped up as the new face of Marc by Marc Jacobs. Well, today the first images of her campaign have been released and I think you're going to be impressed! The campaign was shot, like all of Marc's ads, by Juergen Teller and although it's not as controversial as those Victoria Beckham pictures it has turned out quite well! I like the contrast between the pale background and Daisy's dark eyes and hair. What do you think of the photo?

I am a sucker for dual-functioning fashion items. Especially if it bears the name of one of my favorite American designers (Marc Jacobs) and evokes feelings of one of the most innocent flowers (daisies). This Marc Jacobs 'Daisy' Solid Perfume Ring ($30) borders on Bella territory, but the white and gold enamel ring is definitely Fab. It reminds me of those lip-gloss rings that certainly come in handy . . .

Daisy Lowe, Pixie Geldof and Alice Dellal might seem to have been given the keys to the city in recent years as they attend many parties, openings and fashion shows often in the most stylish attire. However, it appears that their partying may have been their downfall this week. As it turns out, Select Models has announced they will no longer represent the girls.

Daisy was discovered aged 15 in Camden and has been the face of Agent Provocateur and Marc Jacobs amongst others. Pixie was also discovered at a young age and has appeared on the catwalk at PPQ and Luella to name but a few, not to mention her Vogue Italia shoot. Alice has become synonymous with her undercut hair style and has appeared in ad campaigns for Burberry and Mango.

It is being suggested that the three models have become "over exposed" although the agency will not comment directly. The news comes as Pringle of Scotland announce Tilda Swinton as the new campaign star following Daisy and Pixie's appearance for the heritage brand. Are you surprised to see the ladies dropped?

Coming Soon: Marc Jacobs Lola

Almost two years ago, Marc Jacobs launched Daisy to much success. And now, there's a new gal in town, named Lola ($65 to $85). "Where Daisy is more innocent and sweet, Lola is more sensual - the name conjures up a flirtatious, warm spirit," Jacobs told WWD. Think of Lola as the bolder, older sister, with a somewhat vampy feel.

The fragrance will contain top notes of pink peppercorn, ruby red grapefruit, and pear d’anjou, with fuchsia peony, rose, and geranium serving as the middle notes, and vanilla, tonka bean, and creamy musk as the bottom notes. It will be topped off with a cap of of violet, fuchsia, and red flowers in somewhat of a wild, helter-skelter design.

I can't help but wonder, could Jacobs's latest scent be a nod to muse Madonna's only daughter, Lourdes? Whatever the case, look for Lola to be sold exclusively by Bloomingdale's for the first month of its launch in August.
