Moms can be a protective bunch — sticking up for their child when they are wronged or going to bat for their hubby when someone shoots him down. And sometimes, she takes that badge of motherhood and uses it for her own agenda. In the "Don't Walk on the Grass" episode of Desperate Housewives, Gaby chews out Juanita's principal, which earns her daughter a leave from school.

This week's episode of Desperate Housewives had a lot of the same themes as last week — Bree can't make up her mind about Orson, Katherine is crazy town, and Gaby's parenting skills fall under scrutiny. The trouble continues for Lynette, Tom, and their growing family, and for once the Bolens stay (mostly) out of trouble. It wasn't exactly filler, but it wasn't the juiciest episode we've seen either.

Some would say it is human nature to judge others. If that's the case, it is certainly true when it comes to parenting styles. In motherhood, the narrowed eyes and hushed whispers can get a little out of control.

This week's episode of Desperate Housewives is all about judgment (though it's also a little bit about monkey attacks, but more on that later). The Bolen family continues with their shady behavior, while Julie is having some trouble adjusting to life on Wisteria Lane after her attack. Meanwhile, Gaby is accused of being a bad mom and Bree has a showdown with a motel housekeeper.

There are some changes a comin' to Desperate Housewives this Fall — apparently a plane crash will send at least one of the residents of Wisteria Lane to the grave. Marc Cherry is reportedly plotting to kill off several cast members, including a "fan favorite" during November sweeps.
Now there are plenty of dare I say "expendable" characters on the show to choose from.

The Rolling Stones may have said it best when they sang, "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need." Many young ladies dream of a life full of children, a dreamy hubby and all of the fabulous side dishes that come along with motherhood. But ask most any mum and chances are, they will admit their reality is far different from the imaginary one they created before entering mommyhood, and hopefully, for the better.

Secrets came to the surface on this week's Desperate Housewives, like Katherine's obsession with sneaking into Mike and Susan's house (cuckoo!), Julie's scandalous affair — and best of all, we learn more about the mysterious Bolen family, which has me totally intrigued.

Pregnancy is to be celebrated but there are rare occasions when a woman tries to hide her expectant status to reap the benefits of a vacant womb, especially in the workplace. In the "Never Judge a Lady by Her Lover" episode of Desperate Housewives, Carlos gives Lynette a promotion that she initially tries to reject knowing she has two babies in her belly. When the boss man mentions the salary increase, she quickly takes the offer and keeps her mouth shut about her impending arrivals.

Is it just me, or do the housewives seem even more desperate than usual this week? Susan takes some drastic measures to scare Danny away, which in turns sets Angie off with a few crazy antics of her own. Meanwhile, Bree's jealousy sends an innocent woman to the hospital and Lynette makes Tom look like a fool to cover up her pregnancy at a company dinner.

Companies and TV networks are getting quite clever when it comes to creating commercials that blend well with the show it's airing with. We already know that people aren't watching commercials during popular shows, so it makes sense that companies are using some smart tactics to get people to watch — and not fast forward through — its commercials. Sprint is doing just that by teaming up with Desperate Housewives to launch seven commercials that were actually written and directed by Desperate Housewives employees.
