Tame Your Frizz With Tips From John Frieda

Lack of body or too much frizz: "Most people fall into one [category] or the other," explains hair guru John Frieda. The solution? "A product and a technique," he says. In the 1970s and 1980s, when Frieda first started out, the majority of the products available were just for body and volume. If you had any issues with frizziness, as 60 percent of women do, you couldn't turn to your favorite anti-frizz serum or cream to quell the problem, as those types of products just didn't exist quite the way they do today. At least there was disco, right? Frieda, along with stylist Harry Josh, recently spoke on the stubborn issue of frizz. To find out how to prevent your hair from looking as if it's been hit by a Van de Graaff generator, keep reading.

Do You Like Zoe Salmon Better As a Brunette or a Blonde?

I quite like this rich and more mature look on her, however, I'm so used to her with pale hair, it's going to take a little getting used to. That's right, I admit it. I had already been dealing with a few errant hairs that had been popping up on on my chin, upper lip, and sometimes even "sideburns," so when I found a few hairs on my boobs, I wasn't all that surprised - although I can't say that I was all too pleased, either. Do you have hairs on your nipples? You're not alone. Along with makeup, it's one of the simplest ways to transform a look. But when it comes to Hollywood hair, do you know what your favorite stars really have going on under all that hair color and/or bleach? You're about to find out.
Easy Tip: Go to Bed, Wake Up With Curls

Check out what reader blondeyy had to say in the Do-it-Yourself Beauty group:

Wake up with gorgeous curls - seriously, fast and easy! Spend the morning making a nice cup of tea and watching CNN rather than working on your hair.

Wash your hair at night.

Put your favorite styling cream in damp hair.

Flip your head over (bending at the waist) and pull all hair into a scrunchie on the top of your head.

Section by section, roll hair into curlers and pin. ( I have very long hair and I only need about 6-7 curlers).

Everything stays on the top of your head so you don't feel a thing when you are sleeping.

In the morning: magic! Remove the curlers and scrunchie; either brush hair or finger tousle and you're done! Beautiful hair! I read this somewhere and do it all the time. It is a REAL time saver with fab results!

Have tips and tricks you'd like to share with others? There's a bevy of groups in BellaSugar Community, so join in the fun!

On the New Moon red carpet tonight, Kristen manages to turn this curly hairstyle, which could easily go more the route of high school-prom, into a funky 'do with plenty of edge. The great thing is, this look is not only wearable for all hair types, but it's both modern and fresh, too. Try it out. You might just surprise yourself.
Definition: Snood

A snood is a netted or solid cloth hairpiece that's gone in and out of fashion over the years. This hairnet-like cap, which is placed onto the back of a hairstyle, like a chignon or braid, is often knitted, crocheted, or made from silk or lace. The odd-sounding word was first recorded in Old English around the year 725. During the Middle Ages, women wore versions of the snood, and these hair "sacks" have also been used throughout history for hair-covering purposes for religious reasons, and even to indicate married status.
During World War II, snoods regained popularity once again. While we don't see too many women wearing these types of netted hair accessories these days, for modern options, you might find snoods that are closer in appearance to closed scarves, resembling neck protectors. Or, you might also recall Amy Adams's hairstyle at the 2009 Oscars, for which her hairstylist used this super old-timey hairnet for the inspiration behind the actress's tousled chignon.
