Weekend Workout: Three Moves for a Healthy Back

A strong back is an essential part of a strong core, and it can help you maintain proper posture and prevent pain. Grab a mat and give these three moves a try that will strengthen and increase flexibility in your back. Repeat all three exercises for a total of three rounds.

How-To: Get Bar Refaeli's Sexy MTV EMA's Makeup

I asked, and you voted that Bar Refaeli was last night's red carpet beauty queen.

Personally, I was kvelling over her wavy hair, but when I looked a little closer, I noticed her awesome shimmering blue- green eyeliner that was enhanced with a hint of gold in the inner v of her eyes.

Paired with a creamy pink pout and tanned, flushed cheeks, Bar's makeup was aces. Her face was polished, young and fresh looking and that hint of metallic eyeliner gave her a current edge.

Achieving her look is fairly straightforward, and with the help of a little bronzer and the right brushes, I know that all of you beauty junkies can handle this one. However, for details on how to create that perfect finishing touch on her eyes, I'll lend a hand with a few helpful hints. To find out what they are, just read more.

Step 1: Begin by filling in your brows. Then curl your lashes and apply a pale pink shadow all over your lid and blending a matte brown, grey or plum shade in the crease.
Step 2: Next, apply black powder liner just above your lash line on the top and below your lash line on the bottom. Once you are done, dab a smidgen of gold shimmery shadow to the inner corners of your eyes.
Step 3: Finish by lining the inner rims of your eyes with a blue-green coloured metallic liner. That wasn't so difficult, was it?

Work It Girl: Reverse Arch Stretch

Constantly hovering over your keyboard, with your shoulders hunched over not only contributes to terrible posture, but can be a real pain in the neck and back. I know this stretch looks a little provocative and is reminiscent of FlashDance, but it is the antidote to a day of blogging.

Sit on the edge of your chair. Reach your hands behind you and hold on to the back of the chair.
Inhale and press your chest forward, arching your spine. If it feels comfortable, let your head fall back slightly to open through the front of the neck.
Continue to breathe, feeling the front of your body open up as you extend backwards.
Hold this position for 30 seconds or as long as you want. Then slowly lift your head back up, straighten your spine, and release the chair.

How-To: Go Subtle With Lavender

FACE: Begin with a clean, exfoliated face and apply an anti-redness moisturiser. Next, blend a makeup primer all over and let it soak in for about one minute. When you're finished, apply your foundation with a brush or a sponge for the most even coverage possible followed by concealer. Then, dust a translucent powder over your face to set the foundation and buff it out well with fluffy brush for a natural finish.
CHEEKS: All you need is a touch of colour on the cheeks so that you don't look washed out. I recommend a winter rose or a warm peach (nothing too apricot) lightly swept over the apples of your cheeks and along the cheekbones.
EYES: Drew is a Cover Girl, and talk about easy breezy eyes - this look is super simple to create! Begin by tweezing and filling in your brows, as they will serve as a frame for your face. Then, curl your lashes and apply two coats of black mascara (false lashes are optional). When it's dry, blend a shimmery cream or powder champagne shadow from your lash line to your crease and blend well - fini!
LIPS: Since lips are the focus of this look, they are going to take more time to pefect than usual. However, don't be intimidated by a bright colour. Begin by using a reverse lip liner just outside the rim of your lips so that the colour doesn't bleed. Then, fill your lips in with red lipliner, red lipstick (use a lip brush for precision) and if desired, top off the look with a clear or sheer red gloss!

Don't Have Day Old Bread? Make It Yourself

Recently, I decided to try a recipe that called for day-old bread. I wanted to make the dish that night and headed to the grocery store hopeful that I could find a loaf of day-old bread. Although I was out of luck, I chatted with the baker about my dilemma. How could I turn new bread into stale bread? Here's what she told me to do:

Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Slice the bread into 1/2-inch cubes. If your recipe calls for no crusts, remove them now.
Place the cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Do not season or coat with oil.
Bake for 15 minutes or until the bread cubes are toasted and dry, but not browned.

Use the dried out bread to make your recipe. This technique worked perfectly for me! How do you dry out bread?
