Guess How Long It Takes the Longest-Legged Woman to Shave

Kiehl’s "Close Shaverettes" Simply Mahvelous Shave Cream ($15.50) has been around for almost 65 years. And this Spring, the iconic line is relaunching the popular shaving aide in pink packaging - a complete overhaul from the traditional Kiehl's black and white.

To celebrate the new look, the company is holding a truly unique (and leggy) contest. From now until March 15th, pop in to any Kiehl's location or enter online for a chance to win a year's worth of "Close Shaverettes" Simply Mahvelous Legs Shave Cream.

The catch? You have to guess how long (down to the second) it takes Svetlana Pankratova, the record-holding "Woman with the Longest Legs," to shave her 4'4" gams. There will be lots of happy people with this contest, as Kiehl's is picking one winner from each of their stores and one winner from online. Shower with Brad Pitt for a Good Cause

One of Cosmopolitan's Sexiest Men Brad Pitt is showing he's not just a pretty face. The actor is following in the footsteps of wife Angelina Jolie and using his fame for a good cause. Brad is working with Kiehl's to raise money for eco initiatives. Back in the summer my girl BellaSugar US told you about Brad and Kiehl's new deal and now the good work continues as their Aloe Vera Liquid Cleanser hits counters in the UK.

100% of the proceeds from the cleanser go to JPF Eco Systems. This charity, which is co-owned by Brad Pitt and Kiehl's, seeks to support global environmental initiatives such as the building of environmentally sustainable housing for victims of Hurricane Katrina. I'm also pleased to report that the body wash contains only biodegradable ingredients and the packaging is recyclable.

Do You Use Hand Cream?

As the weather takes a definite turn for the worse, with an ultra cold October, extra beauty maintenance is certainly required. As you all know, I am a body lotion addict and it's not very scientific but I definitely feel like wearing body cream is like adding an extra layer of clothing to protect against the harsh winter elements.

Of course, the first area to feel the cold and wind is usually our hands. I've recently got into a good habit of using Kiehl's Unusually Rich But Not At All Greasy hand Cream. I keep in on my desk now to remind me to apply it regularly, but I have to admit it's not something I'm naturally inclined to do.

How about you, do you regularly use hand cream in the winter months?

New Product Alert: Kiehl's Forest Rain

One of the highlights of a trip to New York is stocking up on Kiehl's goodies from one of their apothecary-style stores. The US brand has recently added to it's fantastic line of products with a breezy new scent called Forest Rain.

The new line is a fresh mixture of woody aromas. Think muguet, vetiver, citrus and cedar wood fragrances. The Forest Rain Eau de Toilette is complimented by two new bath products for an all-over forest-fresh experience. The liquid shower cleanser is typically everyday decadent, whilst the hand and body lotion gives you that pick-me-up, clean feeling that we all crave from our morning beauty routine.

The line is available at Kiehl's boutiques, as well as Harrods, Selfridges, and Space NK. Now you've got no excuses for not feeling forest fresh.

SPF Beauty Bonanza, Part I: Facial Moisturizers

In honor of Sun Safety Week (June 8th-14th), I've decided to bring you a five-post series on beauty products that contain SPF. And I'm not talking SPF 4, 6, or 8, I'm talking the big numbers to keep your looks preserved, your skin protected and your body healthy and happy. Today's topic is facial moisturizers and below are three great products that have piqued my interest. What's your favorite SPF lotion?

I haven't tried anything from Ahava except for their Purifying Dead Sea Mask and I loved it, so when I heard that they launched a line of Mineral Sun Care products I was intrigued, especially with the Anti-Aging Moisturizer with SPF 50 ($25). It claims to guard your skin from both UVA and UVB rays and it's formulated for sensitive skin.

Last Summer, Kiehl's launched the UV Protective Face and Body Sunscreens with SPF 20 ($32.50), which I love. The big news is that they've already released the same version but with SPF 50 overseas and plan to launch it in the US next year - how's that for early buzz!

The sun creams are formulated with Mexoryl technology to ensure that UVA and UVB rays are blocked from penetrating your skin. They are photostable, non-greasy, fragrance-free and sweat resistant, however, they are lightweight in texture so they won't clog your pores.

I'm a hand cream junkie, so it is with great pleasure and conviction that I present my top five favorites to you. Over the past year, I've tested many a cream in search of my favorite, and I have two. The first is June Jacobs Green Tea and Cucumber Hand Cream ($46) because of its quick rate of absorbency, non-greasy feeling and soothing scent.

The second is L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream ($25) because of its rich, thick texture and unparalleled soothing results. If there's one thing I've learned from my experiences, it's that the key to a good hand cream is shea butter, and the higher the content, the better. Below are three runners-up that I use regularly to soothe dry, chapped hands. What's your all-time favorite hand cream?

Kiehl's Unusually Rich - But Not Greasy At All - Hand Cream with SPF 10 ($15.50) takes the cake when it comes to consistency since it's not too thick and not too runny. It's also not greasy whatsoever and it's a great sports cream since it contains SPF 10.
Liz Earle Hand Repair ($28.50) smells like heaven and works wonders on dry cuticles. A little goes a long way, and there's also a travel tube available for $8.
Yu-Be Cream ($15) is a high quality Japanese yellow-tinted hand cream that moisturizes on a healing level. I highly recommend this fast-absorbing lotion - if you can handle the strong camphor scent.

Reader Review: Kiehl's Epidermal Retexurizing Microdermabrasion

Reader missy k is obsessed with finding a microdermabrasion treatment that will make skin, as she puts it, "as smooth as a shiny new egg." I was excited to hear about her experience with Kiehl's Re-Texturizing Microdermabrasion ($40). I'll turn it over to her for the full scoop:

Formulated with "diatomatious earth," which is apparently made from "crushed microshells derived from ocean sand," as well as aluminum oxide crystals (the stuff used by dermatologists to perform real microdermabrasion treatments). Over time, it tells me, it will reduce lines, refine texture, diminish pores, and instantly impart miraculous softness. Yeah, yeah, I’ve heard it all before.

I savagely tore open the sachet with my teeth, ready to be unimpressed. However when I rinsed after just one minute of massaging it into damp skin, my face looked noticeably brighter and felt dreamily smooth. I kept stroking my newly velvety skin. When my boyfriend grudgingly obeyed my order to "feel it!" even he had to admit my cheeks were as soft as the proverbial baby’s bottom (in fact, he stole the rest of the precious sachet for himself!) My moisturizer glided on smoothly afterwards and seemed to be absorbed rapidly, leaving my skin feeling feeling plump and delicious. Wow. I’m in love!

I've tried this treatment before, and I am also a huge fan. My skin was ridiculously smooth without the use of a more expensive contraption. Something I really love about Fashion Week is all of the exciting new collaborations that go on between beauty companies and clothing designers. Last season Lancome and Peter Som created a red lipstick, and on February 6th, Kiehl's will be unveiling two new additions to their Ultra Facial product range backstage at the Derek Lam show. All of the models will prep their skin with the new products before Tom Pecheux applies their makeup and Orlando Pita styles their hair - lucky girls!

Kiehl's Launches Abyssine+ Skincare Collection

Kiehl's has just come out with a line of skincare products called Abyssine+. If this sounds familiar to you, it's because it should! There is an already existing line of light wrinkle creams called Abyssine that has been revamped as Abyssine +, with a new ingredient containing antioxidants and anti-aging properties. There are five products in the collection, including a serum, an eye cream, day creams (with and without SPF 23), and a lighter daytime lotion (with SPF 15).

Abyssine Cream+ SPF 23 ($45) is a wrinkle-fighting cream fortified with UVA and UVB defenses. Not only does it work against new wrinkles forming, it also helps smooth out already existing fine lines.
Abyssine Cream+ ($42) is an anti-aging moisturizer that also diminishes surface wrinkles, but this formula also contains antioxidants to help skin defend itself from free radical damage.
