Marion Cotillard, who's been in the spotlight as of late promoting her film, Public Enemies, is a vision of French sophistication. And her look at Christian Dior's Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture show earlier today was no exception. Recently, model Selita Ebanks broke the rules by pairing cool eyes with a warm lip, and now, in ultrachic fashion, it's Marion's turn.

Whenever I meet a makeup artist, I'm always intrigued by her version of the "five-minute face" or other similarly swift application techniques. Last year, Bruce Grayson gave me the lowdown on a six-minute face, and now Dell Ashley of Yves Saint Laurent is sharing his advice on a five- and seven-minute face.
If you only have five minutes:
- Dell recommends using a primer/moisturizer duo on the skin as a prepping agent.

Makeup isn't just for the face anymore — or at least that's what a few companies would like you to think. Last week we took a look at concealer for your feet, and this time around, it's the My Beautiful Breasts kit ($69) from It Cosmetics. Intended to create the appearance of larger ta-tas, the kit includes waterproof/sweatproof "bust shadows," an awesomely titled Library of Secrets manual, booby primer, setting spray, and brushes for application.

Whether you're driving, or just riding as a passenger, it can be quite tempting to apply your makeup in a car if you're in a rush to leave the house.
However, it's a risky road (hee hee) as you inevitably hit bumps and pot-holes which can make a mess of your makeup. I have definitely applied makeup in cars before.

Of course model Selita Ebanks is stunning, but at an event for the Whitney museum last night, she really amped up the drama. As we learned earlier, "breaking the rules" by using warm tones with cool ones creates a fresh, fun style. Notice how Selita's cool smoky bluish-green shadow and cinnamon red lips create an stunning appearance.

A few weeks ago, I met up with Yves St. Laurent's national makeup artist, Dell Ashley, at Saks Fifth Avenue in San Francisco. While we talked weddings and flattering makeup shades, I also picked up a few good-to-know tips along the way.

Last week, during some preparty primping, I felt like my nighttime makeup application was getting heavier and heavier with each stroke of the brush. As I walked out the door, I thought perhaps I should wipe it down a bit, but I ended up rolling with it. After seeing the pictures from the party the next day, it hardly looked like I had much of anything on my face, let alone layers of darker-toned makeup.

The bronzers I prefer are matte and come in the form of a pressed powder. I like the way they give you a soft, subtle and natural-looking tan without the distraction of shimmer all over your face. Also, they can double as a contour colour when you're looking to define your jaw or sculpt your cheekbones.

I adore orange-enhanced beauty products almost as much as I love honey ones. They can be sweet, tangy, or sometimes a little of both. And even though I'm fair-skinned, I'm quite a sucker for orange-coloured cosmetics too.

There are times when we might want to look older than we are, and those times are typically set aside for Oct. 31. But when it comes to everyday life, could you be aging yourself unintentionally with the wrong shade choices and techniques?
