Hitting the beach can be problematic when it comes to your makeup. All the things that are great about the seashore — the sand, the surf, the soft, salty, humid breeze — cause regular beauty products to run, melt, and just plain fail. And that's where these products come in.

How are you holding up, snow-bogged East Coasters? Over the past few days, it's been wet weather all around, as moderate-to-heavy rain has slammed several other areas throughout the US. Couple that with high winds, and we're talking some serious beauty interference.

I've heard of waterproof eye shadows, mascaras and eyeliners, but never have I encountered waterproof makeup for your facial skin. However, all of that changed when I discovered Get Wet ($32), a new waterproof and sweat-proof highlighter and bronzer from It Cosmetics. The three-pan compact includes a deep, matte powder bronzer and two powder highlighters (one much paler than the other).

Just in time for Summer, I devoted our latest Beauty Mark It challenge to the myriad of waterproof makeup available nowadays. Not just the old-reliable mascara, but also eye shadows like this Lola Cosmetics SocialEyes Gel Eye Colour, plus liners, cheek colors, and foundations that stay put through Summer swims, sweat, and smudges. (To learn what a Beauty Mark is and how to make one, click here.)
Gruaig_rua and Mademoiselle totally rocked this challenge, finding everything from waterproof concealer to a lip gloss that's a favorite of models.

Here's an excerpt of a post by OnSugar blog cee me on getting a runway-inspired white eyeliner look:
I'm not wearing any other makeup on my face, so all the focus should go to the eyes. I started with a white eyeliner (by Bourjois) and set that with a white eye shadow (from the Eye Shadow Duo Twilight by Smashbox), and then used a cream black eyeliner (by Clinique) with a very, very thin brush (by Sephora) to line really only the base of the lashes. I then used a black waterproof eyeliner (by Urban Decay) on my top waterline (try not to blink until it's dry), and then I used a black mascara (by YSL) on my top lashes only.
