I firmly believe that many pricey products are worth their, uh, price — but did you ever stop to think what else you could be getting for the same dollar amount? Well, that's just what I did when I set out to see whether one bottle of really nice polish costs more than the entire collection from another brand and other like comparisons. It was fun for me to hunt out these makeup items, but the results are definitely not made up.

I'm often amazed at the high cost of certain beauty products. A $200 haircut? The frugal gal in me can't help but start formulation scenarios as to what else I could do with that kind of dough.

A couple of weeks ago I attended a press day for Philosophy to learn all about the new coconut frosting skin care range. While I was there, I also picked up some amazing, must-have oldies but goodies which I'll share more about with you in upcoming weeks! I spoke with the marketing director, and whilst Cristina Carlino, the founder and owner of Philosophy wasn't actually in London at the time (she resides in peaceful Phoenix, Arizona), she was kind enough to answer a few of my questions for inquiring minds and fans!

Once upon a time, all bike frames were made out of steel. Consequently, all the newer materials used for constructing frames of compared to grand daddy steel. The newer materials are lighter than steel, but are not as strong.

I first heard of M Lab about a year ago on a trip to the States. It launched in 2007 by a company called Milbar Laboratories, who for 25 years have been creating medical grade skincare products for dermatologists and plastic surgeons. The buzz surrounding the brand was that it is a high end, luxury range for mature (over 40) skin, that it wasn't suitable for sensitive skin and that it was created for men.
