It wouldn't be the holiday season in the beauty world without a luxe, limited-edition kit, and Tarte is delivering just in time. The eco-friendly brand is offering up its Treat Yourself to Gorgeous collection ($50 just for today, regularly $61), an exclusive-to-QVC kit that could very well be the only one you need all season. Tucked inside these three magnetic boxes, you'll find Tarte's heavily pigmented eyeliners and smooth lip glosses (which are infused with maracuja oil to naturally plump your lips). The favorite of the bunch is the eye shadow palette, which is stacked with 20 gorgeous colors ranging from matte neutrals to shimmering darks and jewel tones. Break the boxes apart and gift them separately, get on someone's nice list and put the entire collection under their tree, or do as Tarte says and treat yourself. You have been good all year, after all.

What has your makeup done for you lately? That's the question Tarte is asking with its new QVC-only kit. Inside this pretty box, you'll find six beauty staples. They usually go for $160, but this collection is $49. We're loving the Maracuja Miracle 12-Hour Foundation. One of five shades, from fair to deep, go on smoothly, providing excellent coverage without smothering skin. An accompanying bamboo brush is included for soft and easy application, too. A Lipsurgence lip crayon (a bubblegum pink) and an eyeshadow/liner duo (a plum/brown color) look young and trendy when paired but chic and natural on their own. If the whole kit and caboodle sounds like a deal to you, then move like lightning, because the kit is available only on July 13. A portion of the proceeds will go to Sustainable Amazon Partnership, which helps build schools for indigenous children of the Amazon. That's just one reason that, unlike other so-called "deals," Tarte's box won't leave a sour taste in your mouth.
Tarte lip tint ($24) is by no means a new product, but it is one that definitely deserves some extra attention. These chubby little sticks are great lip moisturizers, and unlike most balms, you don't end up reapplying them constantly to keep your lips from drying out even more. The high pigment payoff and sheer formula also make the tint exceptional. The combination makes it so buildable that you can go from a sheer hint of color all the way up to a vintage crimson lipstick look with the same product.
There is, however, something you need to know if you want this product to work for you. The high pigmentation is a boon, but it also means that light and medium skin tones can't apply this the way you would a typical lip balm. So if you don't want a statement lip color, do one of two things: 1) get a lip brush and apply sparingly, or 2) instead of applying as you normally would, just lightly touch the stick to your lips a few times, then rub them together. It might feel a little weird at first, but it also means that one tint lasts three or four times longer than the average colored lip balm.
As an obsessive True Blood fan and similarly obsessive beauty editor, the new Tarte Cosmetics collaboration with True Blood is basically my perfect storm — a brand I already like creating makeup with colors and packaging that could in theory make me as preternaturally alluring as a Bon Temps vamp. Before it even came out, my inner panicked fangirl was worried about where I'd be able to get more once it was gone. "Should I start hoarding it as soon as it drops," I wondered, "or wait until it's been out a few months so I can get maximum shelf life?"
It was as unhealthy as it sounds. Fortunately, the collection came, I got my mitts on it, and now I've been restored to a level of sanity that allows me to give a fair review of the products. So to see whether the True Blood line lived up to my (extremely high) expectations, or whether I was left as pouty as King Bill, just keep reading.
